NIEUWE FILMERS FILM FESTIVAL met 5 korte filmpremières & uitreiking film award Het Paradepaardje 2018
Zaterdag 8 september vond de vijfde editie van het Nieuwe Filmers Film Festival plaats in de grote zaal van de Verkadefabriek in Den Bosch. Publiek en filmers werden feestelijk ontvangen met bubbels op de rode loper in de Verkadefabriek, partner van Nieuwe Filmers, onderdeel van SOLOS.
Een avondvullend feestelijk programma met premières van vijf korte films gemaakt voor het ONE WEEK FILM project 2018 en interviews met de makers door host Coen Haver. Na het voorlezen van het juryrapport volgde een spetterende uitreiking van de film award Het Paradepaardje 2018 met € 1.250 prijzengeld aan de regisseur van de winnende film! Ook reikte de jury prijzen uit in de categorieën; Beste regie, Beste scenario, Best Acteur m/v, Beste Sounddesign, Beste Camera DOP, Beste Editing & Beste Production Design! Het publiek bepaalde de winnaar van de Publieksprijs. Afsluitend was er een ‘afterparty’ met DJ Losse Veter.
Het publiek maakt tijdens deze filmavond kennis met zowel het inspirerende filmwerk alsook met de gedreven filmmakers zelf; de jonge regisseurs, scenarioschrijvers, acteurs e.a.
De vijf korte films die in première gaan zijn gemaakt tijdens het One Week Filmproject van 13 t/m 17 augustus. Vijf teams van een nieuwe generatie jonge filmmakers maakten in één week tijd ieder een nieuwe korte film van maximaal 10 minuten, van script tot eind montage en in elk denkbaar genre! Met hun film dingen de teams mee naar de prijzen die uitgereikt wordt door een professionele filmvakjury met Ilona van Heeckeren filmprogrammeur o.a. Verkadefabriek, Marina Wijn casting director,castte acteurs voor 80 speelfilms en series o.a. voor de Emmy Award winnende film ‘Anything Goes’ [2015]. Bob Wilbers regisseur van oa. ‘De ludwigs’, ‘Celblok H’, ‘Sluipschutters’ en ‘Dokter Tinus.

‘Wanneer Magere Hein in opdracht van God de ziel van de bejaarde man Albert gaat halen, wordt hij hierin stukje bij beetje verstoord door iets onverklaarbaars.’
•‘2034’, Team SOJAMJO - Team Captains Jamie Manders regisseur & Jori van Duifhuizen scenarioschrijver - Psychologische thriller. ‘Als het niet gaat zoals het moet, moet het zoals het gaat.’
•‘Eindzege’, Team BELIEVE IT NOW - Team Captain en regisseur Merel van Oostrum – Biografische film
‘Opgegroeid in chaos, ontsnapt Emmy uiteindelijk uit het huis dat haar duister aan deed. Verloren in de nieuwheid van het onbekende leven ontdekt ze wie zij vertrouwen kan en dat, ondanks dat Emmy nooit meer terug keert naar huis, ze niet voorkomen kan dat ze nooit meer terugkeert naar het verleden.’

Out of countenance is a dialogue between two faces, deformed and transformed by a digital process into something strange, obsolete. The facial expressions are exaggerated and amplified, drew in a 3-Dimensional space, bringing the common feeling of expression in a different and distorted perception. The human face as known looses its physiognomy, allowing the other face to overlap, mix, fuse within it, turning into a digital creature, an extension of the human being in the digital era.
Two performers stands in front of their computer, positioned one to the extreme left and the other at the extreme right of the stage. The computers capture the performers faces thru their internal webcams, generating an interactive video flow that is projected on a screen. The projection screen fills the whole stage standing between the two performers. The two computers generate also an interactive audio flow. The performers interact with the system thru their movement, the expressions and distortions of their faces, generating different visuals and sounds.
The software in use in the two computers is created within MaxMSP/Jitter, two different patches are running on each computer.
The video images are captured in realtime by the two webcams, combined in different ways, distorted in time and space and transposed in a 3d environment.
Video and audio are always related, in sync and always interacting between each other.
The audio has different natures, pre-made, modified in realtime, realtime generated and generated via webcam interaction. The two software contained in both computer act as one audio visual generating flux and it has a fix time schedule that permit the performance development to have a precise order and execution.

Prima attraverso le energie e la passione della business unit dedicata, L22 Engineering & Sustainability, e da oggi anche attraverso il nuovo brand Atmos, specializzato in fisica degli elementi e in principi sensoriali che muovono la qualità degli ambienti. Come funzionano gli edifici? Quali sono gli elementi che lo fanno vivere? Atmos accorpa soluzioni di ingegneria, architettura e psicologia. Integra nel processo progettuale la composizione delle variabili fisiche e calibra attentamente la percezione degli spazi.

Created in the Spring of 2012 by SCU faculty Bruno Ruviaro and students, this interdisciplinary group explores the intersection of music composition, live performance, human/computer interaction, programming, and sound design, with emphasis on musical creativity based on cutting-edge technologies.

AN EXPLORATION OF SOUND AND MUSIC IN GAMES
Leading music and sound practitioners working in the indie and AAA sectors.
Adele Cutting is a BAFTA award-winning audio professional working in the games industry. After fifteen years as the Senior Audio Director of Electronic Arts, working on blockbuster titles including the Harry Potter franchise, she formed audio production company, SoundCuts, working with clients Microsoft, Gamesys and Nickelodeon on projects across a range of gaming platforms, from mobile to VR. SoundCuts was a finalist in the 2015 and 2016 Develop Awards for Audio Outsourcing, and the TIGA 2016 awards in the Audio Supplier category. Publiek op de rode loper van het NIEUWE FILMERS
FESTIVAL 8 september in de Verkadefabriek in Den Bosch – feestelijke première avond met 5 korte films gemaakt tijdens het One Week Film Project 2018 en interviews met de filmmakers. Na het voorlezen van het juryrapport volgde de spetterende uitreiking van de film award Het Paradepaardje 2018 mét de Hermes Kunst & Cultuurfondsprijs t.w.v. 500 euro, de BudgetCamera waardecoupon t.w.v. 750 euro, vertoning als voorfilm in de Verkadefabriek en een wildcard voor het Eindhovens Film Festival.
De jury reikte ook categorieprijzen uit voor ‘Beste regie’, ‘Beste scenario’, ‘Beste acteur m/v’, ‘Beste sounddesign’, Beste camera DOP’ (director of photography), ‘Beste editing’ en’ Beste production design!’ Het publiek koos de winnaar van de Publieksprijs. Afsluitend was er een ‘afterparty’ en meet en greet met de filmmakers in de foyer van de Verkadefabriek.
