The Sommolier at Cedar Creek Winery in Kelowna, British Columbia, giving lessons on a beautiful day in the Okanagan Valley.
Hamburger served by Koala Restaurant collaborated with Ecaille. #Ecaille wine bar in Sannomiya Kobe served not only nice food/wine but also comfortable time to us.
And his nose. You must have a few good senses to be a wine waiter. This is an ornamental wine bottle holder with a caricature of a sommelier! I do like the little moustache as well, especially since my menfolk tend to the hirsute! HSoS
... the fish sommelier, that is!
One night in Hawaii, we ate at Mina's Fish House. As we were seated, the host said the fish sommelier would be over soon. We had no idea what to expect. But shortly, a man carrying a bowl of fish on seaweed came to our table and introduced himself as the fish sommelier. He then proceeded to describe the fish what they were and were like, where and how they were caught, and how they were prepared. He answered questions and made suggestions based on what we told him about other seafood we liked - very helpful since a lot of the fish on the menu were new to us. Delicious, unique seafood for us - and one excellent pork chop - along with a cocktail served in a Spam can.
I grabbed this shot of the fish bowl as we were walking out - wish I had thought to take one of the sommelier in action. :-)
This shot is based on that scene from John Wick part 2 where John is at the sommelier from the Roman Continental branch...
A few nights ago in the wine cellar of Huka Lodge, we had a gin tasting with a master sommelier. What a cool guy and what a unique experience!
He kept all the gins a secret until the end and made us guess. We missed every single one and there were many exotic ones, but the only one I recognized what Lighthouse. He had all kinds of opinions on the right way to have it and what kind of tonic water to use. I told him I thought all tonic water tasted the same and he politely guffawed. He also refuses to put ice in his G&T saying it waters it down. “Do you put ice in your wine good man?” No, he had me there. But my friend Scott Kublin put sugar cubes in his zinfandel.
This is a photo I took right before the tasting… this is just part of the 5,000 bottle wine cellar. So awesome!

Esse esmalte, além de ser lindíssimo, tem uma super qualidade, está aprovadíssimo!
User base normal, 2 camadas do Cirque e TC (o roxinho da Colorama). Passá-lo é muito fácil, a pigmentação é boa e o TC não tirou nadinha da holografia! E a durabilidade foi ótima!!! Ia trocar de esmalte em 2 dias e nem tive coragem, tive de deixá-lo um dia a mais! Tirei o esmalte após 3 dias e ele ainda estava perfeito!!!
Estou boquiaberta!!!

The sommelier presents a wine bottle for inspection at Bouley in TriBeCa during our lunch there. Though I've been years ago, this was easily one of the best and most memorable lunches I've had in years. David Bouley really knows his stuff. The five course tasting menu is the thing to go for at lunch.

While all the staff onboard the Silhouette was good, Marvin went above and beyond to make our experience great. He was the sommelier/bar man for our section of the dining room and his attention to customer service was fantastic. Always had a bottle of San Pelegrino at the table when we arrived, and ready to suggest the best wine for whatever the wife decided to order. I made it easy on him since I usually take a Johnny Walker Black neat with dinner, but he did surprise me one night with a Macallan 12 year old that was very interesting! Thanks much Marvin, hopefully your bosses realize what a talent they have in you!
