few weekends ago, went to check out the four season's banquet package. someone was having a wedding banquent that evening, so i took a snap of it.
=)
I liked the light in this passageway. It was eerie. I waited for someone to appear, but decided I liked it like this... waiting in anticipation.

So glad to be learning a bit more how to focus in the dark! I don't think that my "party-crashing" and flash were appreciated...
To be technical about it, I was the only female present at these festivities:
"The Bacchanalia were wild and mystic festivals of the Roman god Bacchus. Introduced into Rome from lower Italy by way of Etruria (c. 200 BC), the bacchanalia were held in secret and attended by women only, on three days in the year in the grove of Simila near the Aventine Hill, on March 16 and 17. Subsequently, admission to the rites were extended to men and celebrations took place five times a month. According to Livy, that happened in the time when the leader of the Bacchus cult was Paculla Annia - though it is now believed that some men had participated before that.
The notoriety of these festivals, where many kinds of crimes and political conspiracies were supposed to be planned, led in 186 BC to a decree of the Senate—the so-called Senatus consultum de Bacchanalibus, inscribed on a bronze tablet discovered near Bari, Italy (1640), now at the Imperial Museum of Vienna—by which the Bacchanalia were prohibited throughout all Italy except in certain special cases which must be approved specifically by the Senate. In spite of the severe punishment inflicted on those found in violation of this decree, the Bacchanalia were not stamped out, at any rate in the south of Italy, for a very long time.
The term has since been extended to refer to any drunken revelry."

I saw this old Chevy truck in the parking lot as I was on my way to the bank. I decided to take advantage of the cloudy conditions to get an exposure from this angle. If it were a bright sunny day, I would not have had good light at this vantage point.

We went into New York today to see the Park Avenue Armory red-and-white quilt exhibit, "Infinite Variety". It was truly stunning. Like, literally so. When I walked into the huge hall where all those hundreds of quilts were displayed in soaring spirals... I'm not going to say I cried, but I'm not going to say I didn't. And after taking the time to inspect them closely, I can say that I have rarely felt so inspired. This was such a treat to be able to see in person.
