I took a walk in the woods to clear my mind. There was a light that broke through the mist and gave me solutions...
How many people can remember that red plastic container of bubble solution with the stick inside that you can blow through to make bubbles? This is thought I had when I rested my tripod on Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast.
The weight of the sky and all of its fabulous sunset glory was a perfect way to cap off an incredible day in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
Quatrième photo d'une série de quatre sur les changements climatiques.
La conférence sur les changements climatiques de Paris est en cours, c'est le temps de réfléchir et de savoir ce que nous allons faire avec ce que l'on sait.
Fourth photo of a series of four on climate change.
The climate change conference in Paris is happening now, it is time to reflect and take action. What will we do with what we know?
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
CP empty grain train no.331 is on the pull out of Toronto after making a two car setoff as well as fuelling up the engines and swapping crews. Apparently the leader here had multiple defects reported, one of which being a broken bell button which was being held together by a band-aid. Paraphrasing, but the conversation on the scanner went something along the lines of this:
Crew: "so you want us to just go ahead when there's literally a band-aid holding this button in place? It's kind of disgusting"
West Tower: "That is correct, I'm sure the band-aid is there specifically to hold that button in place, not like it came off someone, the planner said to just go ahead and leave because he's unable to fix it here on the spot".
Never a dull moment around these parts.

Herring Gull / larus argentatus. Bridlington, East Yorkshire. 19/11/21.
'BEAK GROOVES.' (2)
A very confiding 1st winter Herring Gull photographed on a harbour jetty.
It follows on from my previous image and gives detail of the gull's beak structure. It shows the grooves down which a salt solution travels, (excreted from the nasal salt glands), in order to reach the tip of the beak. One short shallow groove runs from the widest end of the nostril. Another longer, deeper groove runs directly under the nostril, from about midway. When the solution reaches the beak tip it forms a large droplet and either drips off or is shaken off by the gull.
BEST VIEWED LARGE.
Amsterdam - Admiralengracht / Van Kinsbergenstraat.
Residential block, built in 1926 to a design by Bureau Gulden and Geldmaker.
This block does have an unmistakable "Amsterdam School" appearance, especially due to the attractive corner solution.
Architects Gulden and Geldmaker excel in usually more sober designs, but they could indeed come up with expressive designs (amsterdamse-school.nl).
The Amsterdam School is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture, sometimes linked to German Brick Expressionism (Wp).

I folded this modular origami piece for a coworker and friend at my workplace. It contains deep red cardstock with black vine print, plain black, and white with faded text print. My only problem while folding it was that the red cardstock would crack, showing white underneath. The solution: color in the cracks with a red marker. I think she's going to love it!

Ever since building and sharing my miniature diorama of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge layout based on the early Imagineering concept art in 2016 (long before the official name had been announced and many referred to the developing expansions at the time as “Star Wars Land,”) I had convinced myself that I was going to build larger, minifigure-scale sections of Batuu once the land was open and the details of Black Spire Outpost could be experienced up close and personal.
After pouring through as many reference photos, videos, and concept art as I could get my hands on, I now present a minifg-scale display of the entrance/facade to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, home of Ohnaka Transport Solutions.
With the iconic Millennium Falcon docked out front of the curved hangar bay, beneath the rocky spires of an alien world, this section of Galaxy’s Edge is perhaps what we all think of when we think of a perfect amalgamation of the visual aesthetics of not only the Galaxy’s Edge experience, but Star Wars in general. I worked diligently to capture all the details I could pack in at this scale, attempting to blend the natural landscape of the Batuu spires with the weathered and lived-in hangar building. Using the 75257 version of the Falcon (with some minor exterior modifications and added greebles), the rest was built up and around to create a bustling corner of Black Spire Outpost for Hondo Ohnaka to conduct his smuggling operations, while avoiding the suspicion of the First Order patrols.
Thanks for checking out my design! Good journeys to you all— Til the spire!
I hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend so far. As promised, here's a new photo series. This one is pretty near and dear to my heart. My new Flickr friend, Kirstie Shanley
has been posting some of the most amazing protest shots so I thought I would share a few from my neck of the woods with her and with you all.
On March 11, 2017, women and men marched in 7 Caribbean countries in the first Women's Solidarity March, against Rape Culture and Gender Based Violence. Quite an event and so inspiring.
Signs, signs and more signs....always glad to see them. I loved the "Resister" sign but the sign in the back is probably more compelling and contemplative. Any movement towards equality is going to take a shift on both sides. Not all men are bad. On the contrary, most of them are quite wonderful. Same for women and same for those who identify as another gender, sexuality, etc. It just takes a bit more of all of us to speak up and get on board.

I have decided to get a tripod for my macro shots. I'm in physical therapy for shoulder issues that are most likely from holding my camera one handed. Anyone have suggestion on a lightweight tripod that would be a good option? I am not going to stop taking pictures so I have to find a solution. :)
