Space is limited so if this sounds like something that you'd like to attend do NOT hesitate to RSVP now!!!
About the presenter:
Dr. James Amundson received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Chicago in 1993. He then pursued his research in QCD and the production and decays of heavy quarks as a postdoc and a visiting assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and as a postdoc at Michigan State University. He joined the Fermilab Computing Division in 1998.In 2002 he joined the Advanced Accelerator SciDAC project. He is the co-architect and primary author of accelerator modeling tool Synergia.

KK and my CSci 3601 (Software Design and Development) class took a field trip up to the West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) Horticulture Gardens to see where their project would actually be used. Steve Poppe did most of the tour guiding, with assistance from Esther Jordan.

Industrial Design in Irvine, Patton Design has been providing software development, patent, graphical user interface, invention since 2005.
Neelakandan Raman, or Neelu, Xerox India, a veteran of the Indian software industry, started his career from the same company from where I started mine in 1985: International Data Processing (IDP), where we worked on DEC PDP 11/70 with 24 terminals, 1 console, 2 line-printers, 4 card-punching machines, and 2 tape-storage devices. Yet Neelu and I met for the first time in 2009 at Xerox India.
At Niyam's workshop on 'Professional Digital Color' for the software development team of Xerox India, at their Delhi office in May 2009. This team works on global software products and technologies. The workshop covered Fundamental Color Theory; Digital Color; Color Management System (CMS); Color workflows in Postscript; and Digital Pre-press primer among other topics. Intense learning, with a lot of fun.
