Sun behind a smoke screen at Esther Lake Campground in Grand Portage State Forest near Hovland, Minnesota.

Much of Minnesota was choked with smoke from Canadian fires and a couple of our own for much of the summer of 2021.

Smoke, captured and colored for this week's category,

#4/52, Smoke, 52 weeks in 2020

Taken last week in the Bitterroot Mountains, smoke from the California and Oregon fires.

It almost looks like low cloud cover but this is all smoke from last summers fires. It was nice to get above it and not have to breath the smoke for a bit.

Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ and visits they are so very much appreciated.

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image)

The pistils in the middle of the flowers of Prairie Smoke Geum develop into heads of seeds with long fuzzy hairs that point upwards. The hairs resemble mauve smoke, hence the name prairie smoke. These collected some overnight dew, adding to their delicate beauty.

Happy Bokeh Wednesday! Thank you all for your visits, comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

Peaceful harbor in Georgetown, SC, with the backdrop of smokestacks of International Paper, one of the largest (if not the largest) paper mills in the world. I kind of like how the smoke envelopes the boat and the overall contrast between serene beauty and industrial ugliness.

I will be traveling again for the next week, without much time for flickr. Дорогие фликр-друзья в Питере: еЕсли у вас есть желание что-нибудь поснимать вместе, дайте мне знать.

pretty patterns. For Macro Mondays, the theme is 'Smoke'. I used an incense cone and put a small upside down funnel on top to lead the smoke through. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM

Rising sun in Petoskey, Michigan, about 500 miles from the Canadian fires in Quebec. You can smell the smoke in the air, it feel like someone is burning stuff in their backyard. The days are hazy, people cough, and I got a headache at the end of the day. The smoke has been coming in for about a week; I can't imagine what it can be like on site.

Macro Mondays 'smoke' theme.

The smoke measures approx 1" in width, cropped from a bigger image.

I was experimenting with smoke photography (not easy to achieve) and managed to capture this interesting pattern. I then did some post processing to give it colour and more form.

I found this instrumental track which I thought went with the image.......enjoy

Noctilucent Smoke from the forest Fires, at least that is my theory, this is 11pm typical twilight except for the white glow
