His radical point of view: "The term 'Internet of Things' will be outdated in the near future just because of the fact, that every thing will have an ip address anyway." He also criticised the ubiquitous use of the term smart home: "Smart home means nothing or everything if you like. It equals to the term 'app store': there you can find everything but nothing in concrete."

Curious what's inside Smarthome's Signalinc phase coupler? Not much.. just a single capacitor and inductor in series.
The inductor is labeled as 28 uH, and the capacitor is 0.1 uF, 400V. If I'm doing the math right, that makes it a bandpass filter with a center frequency of about 95 kHz.
For all of the noise Smarthome made about how totally not okay it is to just use a capacitor as a phase coupler, I'm pretty let down by how simple this thing is. I expected at least a MOV and a fuse.
