With the new ebike, smart is presenting its second idea for locally emission-free electric mobility on two wheels. The trend-setting electric bicycle study, which will be premiered at the Paris Motor Show 2010 together with the highly regarded smart escooter is suited for both effortless city biking and sporty use. Unlike the scooter, the ebike´s drive is not controlled via the throttle grip. Instead, it delivers extra power when the rider pedals. The muscle power-electric hybrid drive offers four power levels. The high-tech bike also sets standards in terms of appearance and concept, starting with the futuristic look and the discretely designed lightweight wheels to the technical features in detail. Characteristics that the ebike and the escooter have in common are typical smart design features, simple handling and the integration of smartphones: the smart drive kit app that has been further developed also performs numerous functions for the ebike, for example those of a speedometer and a navigation system.

The hair is delicious. (Don't try to eat it)

I suspect that I will be spending a lot of time trying to keep this tidy. I find using a tooth brush works best. Brush from the bottom else it will just tangle worse, and be super careful as pulling hairs out is easy and they won't grow back.

This fence was designed to keep the wild horses in en to let people out, but because of the flood it was quite a critical undertaking to keep your feet dry. Wish you a good weekend!

Horten Smart BOURN

Aged 54 years

Block 48 Plot 53

Occupation at death: Farmer

Occupation on probate: Auctioneer

Years in NZ: 54

Born: Springston, Canterbury [2]

Burial: Thursday 30th May 1918

OBITUARY.

The death took place in Christchurch yesterday of Mr Horten Smart Bourn, one of the best, known business men of that city. Throughout his life Mr Bourn was a hard worker, and he had enjoyed excellent health until about six years ago. He was attacked by illness then, but recovered to a large extent, although not in his usual health. He became ill again a fortnight ago, and the end, which was not entirely unexpected, came yesterday.

Mr Bourn was the fifth son of the late Mr Charles Bourn, who arrived at Lyttelton in 1850 in the Randolph, one of the historic first four ships. He was born at Riccarton in 1864, being one of a family of 18, comprising nine sons and nine daughters. He was educated at Springston, Southbridge, and at Christ's College. On leaving the last-named institution in 1880 he went to Timaru, to which town the family had removed. He joined the firm of Robert Wilkin and Co., merchants and auctioneers, in which Mr Bourn, sen., was a partner, and was manager.

After a few years he went on the land and about 20 years ago joined the staff of the National Mortgage and Agency Company asia stock agent in South Canterbury. Three years later he was transferred to the Christchurch office of the company. With the keen eye of the business man he saw opportunities ahead, and started the auctioneering department of the company. Under Mr Bourn's able work this department soon assumed big proportions, and about eight years ago he was appointed manager of the company.

In 1915 he retired from the company, and took up laud at Rakaia, which he continued work until the time of his death. Mr Bourn was also in the forefront in matters concerning the welfare of the province, and had been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for many years. He held office, as president in 1915-16 and 1916-17. Previously he had held the position of president of the New Zealand Woolbrokers' Association. [4]

Another obituary states he was a single man who in his younger days was a prominent cricketer and a keen sportsman. [5]

1909 took over as manager of National Mortgage & Agency Company of N.Z., Ltd on the retirement of Mr G.F. Martin[4]

“...instructions from the Trustees in the Estate of the- late MR HORTEN S. BOURN, to Sell at above time and place: 14 MARES and GELDINGS. 4 to 8 yrs; broken to all work

1 SPRING CART GELDING, 8yrs

10 MARES and GELDINGS, 2 to 4yrs; unbroken

AUCTIONEERS' NOTE.—-The late Mr H. S. Bourn was a noted judge of a horse, and the above were specially selected by himself personally. Neither time nor trouble were taken into consideration, as he was only buying the best procurable. The working horses are a particularly good lot, right out of hard work. The unbroken horses were specially selected for the future, and are much above the average. The Trustees have decided to offer the above for absolute UNRESERVED SALE, and those on the look-out for "quality" will find this Sale a most excellent opportunity to procure horses of undoubted merit. That's not a declaration of Paul's intellect, whomever the hell "Paul" is, it's just a Smart Car with a logo on the side for something called "Paul's".

I'm not too sure what Paul's is. There's Paul's Boat Lines in Ottawa, but it has a different logo.
