The SL stands for "selective light".
The original red plastic lens-release button tended to break easily. Most SLs that have been CLAed have had their lens-release buttons replaced with a metal one.
Be sure to check your SL to make sure the pentaprism isn't desilvering, a new one will cost hundreds of dollars.
Leicaflex was the name given to the first series of 35mm single-lens reflex cameras manufactured by Leitz. The various Leicaflex models were fully mechanical cameras marketed between 1964 and 1976.
The Leicaflex SL was a SLR made by Leitz from 1968 to 1974 as the second model of the Leicaflex series. In 1968, Leitz responded to the critics of the non-TTL meter of the original Leicaflex by introducing its successor the Leicaflex SL with a TTL meter. The SL designation in the name was an abbreviation of "Selective Light", the name chosen by Leitz for its implementation of TTL metering. This system metered a limited area represented by the viewfinder's central microprism spot.
In the tradition of Leica rangefinder cameras, the SL is a precision-crafted, robust tool made for the photographer who demands the utmost in durability and image quality and can work without modern conveniences.
Leicaflex was extremely durable, and superbly finished, but their appeal was limited by their failure to keep pace with the state of the art in SLR design, their somewhat limited selection of accessories, and their extremely high price in comparison with their Japanese competitors. Not the guitar most folks would expect to be in my collection, but I’m delighted it is. I wanted an inexpensive guitar to practice my repair skills on, so I picked up this @slick_guitar_international SL-57 from Guitarfetish figuring I couldn’t really wreck it. Turns out, there really isn’t much to fix. Just a few frets that needed some TLC to get rid of dead spots. Sounds and plays great. This one is medium weight and a fun little guitar and a great price.

The Clyde Puffer SL Vic 32, of the ship type immortalised in the stories of the Vital Spark and her captain Para Handy.
VIC 32 ("Victualing Inshore Craft") is one of the last few surviving coal-fired steam-powered puffers and is based at The Change House, Crinan.
She was built by Dunston’s of Thorne, Yorkshire in November 1943 - a busy time for the Clyde Ship building yards. As the wartime Admiralty needed 50, (later 100) victualling boats in a hurry, they were built in groups of three by various different yards in England. No new designs were needed as the perfect boat existed in a Clyde Puffer.
(The first skipper had proven to be a drunken maniac. He had taken a cargo of cement out to Barra to build a pier. The boat had suffered damage all along the starboard side, a propellor blade had been knocked off, the crew were in jail for stealing the shop’s petty cash, one had septic sores and another had a nasty seaman’s disease. Obviously merchant men could, to a certain extent during the war, choose from the Merchant Navy Shipping Pool what type of boat they worked on. So the reality was that the crew were no gentlemen.
Die hat mir gerade noch gefehlt :-)
Danke Christian!

MISS SL ♛ France was inspired by the rooster. It is the symbol of France or more precisely that of Vigilance and Work, the song of the rooster waking the peasants for their day of work or warning of a night incursion. He is often depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom and citizenship,
but it disappeared during the First Empire, Napoleon I preferring the imperial eagle because "the rooster has no strength, it cannot be the image of an empire like France". It was during the July monarchy (1830-1848) that the rooster made a strong comeback in popular imagery. King Louis-Philippe even signs an ordinance placing the rooster on the flags and buttons of the National Guard's clothing, and the tricolor flags of the army are summoned.
MISS SL ♛ France is wearing a feather corset and pants from her own store, Belle Mode, and adds shoes by Mogul, shoulder pieces by Zibska, Merry Rooster Harpy by Bare Rose and fishnet pantyhose. She completes her ensemble with jewelry by RealEvil Industries
