While visiting the foggy swamp area I saw my dear flickr friend Siri.We never had met before only knew each other from flickr.
It was a warm surprise and we both had time to make a picture.Thank you my dear Siri you are so friendly and sweet.

Within the very large Iris genus, the Siberian iris group (Iris sibirica) gets somewhat less attention than the more famous
and popular bearded irises, but it actually has some advantages over that group. Like all irises, Siberians have strappy, sword-like foliage, but the leaves of Siberian iris remain quite attractive long after the flowers have faded, offering texture similar to that of an ornamental grass. Siberian irises are also somewhat more cold-hardy than most bearded iris, happily thriving in zone 3 gardens. And finally, Siberians are quite resistant to the borer worms and rot that can make bearded iris such a chore to maintain. Siberian iris, with its smaller, beardless flowers, may not be quite as showy as other types, but it makes up for this by being easy to grow and more drought-tolerant. Species forms usually have blue or blue-violet flowers, but there are also cultivars with yellow, white, pink, and red flowers. While not large by iris standards, the flowers are colorful and have a graceful shape.
Siberian iris is usually planted from potted nursery plants or from roots in the spring, although root division of established plants is sometimes done in the fall. These are very long-lived plants, though over time the clumps can become woody and die out in the center. Division every few years keeps the plants healthy.
All species in the Iris genus are considered slightly toxic to pets and to humans.12 Ingestion or handling of roots and other plant parts can cause digestive upset or skin irritation.
Engineer Myhouseoffish leads his not so trusty SD60I down in towards Johnsonburg. A hard pull up Bingham hill took a toll on the whole SD60 consist, 3882's damage was a little too much for it to be used for the rest of the day, as noted by the white smoke.

When the sun comes out in PA you have to go out shoot something since its only been out 2 days this year, well Ethan Paul and I made the short drive over to Brockway to shoot SIRI with 3064 leading the way in the late evening.
Those are my childhood cats I loved very much. Didi, the tabby point boy, was named after a comedian, Siri is originally Sirikit and was an old breed female siamese cat. They loved each other for 15 years and died only three weeks apart.

Buffalo & Pittsburg SIRI passes the former BR&P depot at Ridgway. The train was led by a mixture of former KCS and QNS&L power that still wore their prior owner's colors.

SIRI is preparing to depart the crew terminal at Salamanca behind a snappy trio of former ConRail widecab SD60s. Overnight a crew took this power set and made a turn to Buffalo. This day crew will make a run to Johnsonburg and swap trains with a crew from Riker Yard, then return to Salamanca. This station was actually known as East Salamanca to predecessors B&O and BR&P, a short branch once began here and went just over a mile to a station in the downtown area of the city.
