View from Sir William Hill Near Eyam, Not sure what the old Building was used for, my guess is an old Mine Engine House? .. anyone??. September 2016, Peak District Derbyshire Uk
LNER A4 60007 on it's way from London Kings Cross to York, this was taken between Lincoln and Gainsborough Lincolnshire, from the bottom of the garden.
60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' is seen with working a train that I'm not sure it's namesake designed it for! Pictured at York on 20th April 1960 working a southbound oil train.
This photo was taken just over a year after 60007 had set the post-war speed record for steam (which it still holds to this day), it'd be lucky to reach half that speed on this working!

Air Commodore Sir Frank Whittle OM KBE CB FRS FRAeS (1 June 1907 – 9 August 1996) was an English Royal Air Force (RAF) engineer air officer. He is credited with single-handedly inventing the turbojet engine. A patent was submitted by Maxime Guillaume in 1921 for a similar invention; however, this was technically unfeasible at the time. Whittle's jet engines were developed some years earlier than those of Germany's Hans von Ohain who was the designer of the first operational turbojet engine.
The Scott Monument in Edinburgh's Princes Street. The building behind is the Bank of Scotland on the Mound.
English poet, writer & broadcaster. He was Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death. He was a founding member of The Victorian Society & a passionate defender of Victorian architecture, helping to save St Pancras railway station from demolition. This bronze was erected at the renovated station.
I've posted two previous photos of this mountain, but I never tire of looking at it !
