Miss Phoebe, one of our resident female Anna's Hummingbird, sipping nectar. This time she chose our Amistad Salvia for her after dinner snack!!
Sipping nectar from my petunias. I have about 5 baskets of petunias hanging where my hummingbird feeders are. That way I can get the occasional hummer that is drinking nectar from the flowers rather than the feeders. I particularly liked this shot.
These birds are probably one of the biggest challenges to photograph. Their speed is so incredible, their movements so erratic, they of course very rarely stay in one spot for long and they are so tiny.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, large subjects are simple to photograph in action, but these guys make one take action photography to a whole new level
Green Grass Dart (Ocybadistes walkeri)
This one was enjoying the Dandelion pollen so much it didn't notice me come in close to get the image.
Finally I got some photos from a great poser,
I have no idea why they like this spot by the chimney and the AC
Unit right under the bush, very close to the kitchen window.
Green Grass Dart (Skipper) (Ocybadistes walkeri)
I don't often see the Skippers in the front garden. This one was sipping nectar from an African Daisy today.
You can see just how long its tongue is here.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
Common Grass Blue (Zizina labradus)
Seen in the garden today, as are all today's images, but this time I had the macro lens on.
"Oh, the mighty Margarita............"
Note: Part of a series of graphic type images I am putting out to expand/pitch my work...

It was my first trip out with the camera for a while this afternoon and how lovely to see this elegant painted lady in the beautiful Sussex Prairie Gardens - not a butterfly I've seen often around here. I was pleased with the detail on the head in this one, so worth zooming in!
An active, but worn Red Admiral butterfly pausing for a moment on its way north.
Common start/end of season migrant and warm weather resident.
Momentarily lost in the archives trying to find my way outside with camera in hand. The sun is shining and the Loons are calling. :)

Sipping Skipper, I thought that was appropriate tittle,
many in the garden Yesterday sipping nectar.
Happy Sunday!
Cabbage White (Pieris rapae)
This one stayed long enough on the African Daisy for me to get a shot.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
Male ruby-throated hummingbird on the rockin fuchsia salvia early this morning, while I was sipping coffee in the garden
Lowell Township, Michigan
A female Anna's Hummingbird sipping Nectar! She chose our Rasberry Agastache (Hyssop) flowers. She has a tiny Hummingbird feather attached to her foot. Photo taken in our backyard in Camas, Washington.
We still have quite a bit of snow and ice but it is starting to melt with temperatures getting above freezing. This mallard drake decides to take a sip of water but he has to get quite low to do so. Those mallards that overwinter have to contend with the ice and snow until Spring melt, maybe late April.
Taken 28 March 2023 at Spenard Crossing, Anchorage, Alaska.

Swallow-tailed Kite ~ (Elanoides forficatus)
A Swallow-tailed Kite gains some altitude after taking a sip of water leaving a trail of water drops.
Thanks for visiting!
Pop in a glass bottle. Some things were just better. The old way was special.
Macro and a good point of view.

Walking in the forest is like exploring life
It's like seeing everything with new eyes
It's like taking a sip of it all
A sip of the light
A sip of the pure greeness
A sip of gratitude
A sip of peacefulness
A sip of love
Feeling awe and refreshed after sipping it all
Sometimes we can only take in small sips
Observing is easier when you have less
Sometimes circumstances won't let you have more
A full mug might be too much
As in sipping love...
Sipping love makes you aware of how lucky you are having it in your life
You will notice that when it is not so easy accessible
You will not take that for granted anymore
The gratitude you feel is immensely grand
Because it is missing
But not gone
Just missing
Missing for the time being
It is coming back
Always
In some way or form
When you first have got the taste of love you will have it all, the whole mug
Giving love
Receiving love
Sometimes less is more
I can deal with less for a while, but I sure want more
At least when it comes to love
2 full mugs next time, thank you
