One picture to remember this day.....a lovely feather fallen in the field. I love shades of soft yellow, browns and gray....maybe that is what draws me to sparrows...their subtle loveliness....or maybe it's just that they are cute :)
Photo taken in Santa Ana, California, 10-1-2010. No digital adjustments on this -- just a polarizing filter on the camera lens.
Bikes are omnipresent in London's traffic and crossing a road requires extra caution because bikes are harder to see, fast moving and quiet. And their riders get really annoyed really quickly should you fail to see them and get in their way. For the most part they are highly intolerant, but I can see their point of view; many pedestrians do step out without a proper check. However, they seem reluctant indeed to modify their speed or direction, preferring to shout or ring their bell loudly in a clearly irritated way.
This fella is adopting the standard MO of moving at high speed. I note, though I didn't at the time, that he's riding a single-speeder; that is, a bike with no gears. This indeed would encourage him not to slow down too much as it would be hard to get started again.
Pleased to have got the shot using the old Pentax, which requires focusing manually.

NEOBALLS / ZEN MAGNETS - Neodymium Magnetic Balls (@216) - Single Set Cycle
(@216) - The all chrome version is exactly one set or 216 magnets.
(@220) - The color version has a 4-ball extension on the front to make it more chopper like.
Nice small scale challenge to get the distinctive shape and enough detail to make it distinguishable.
