THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

one stone with turquoise flecks

for Looking Close…on Friday! - HLCoF!

Betagan - a medicine used to control glaucoma. This has no preservative so after use, the plastic container has to be discarded. I suppose that we humans have to accept that there will be some some single use items we can't do without. I recycle these so I hope they go to be melted down and made into other things.

Not letting go

Isn't that what we do

Fear for the unknown

Clinging us to the past, to what is

Maybe clinging us to what we hope for to happen

We find all kinds of excuses for not doing what we need to do

Hoping for quick fixes

They don't work very well, by the way...

They never last

Because You didn't decide

Others did it for you, or coincidences did it for you

Taking the steps out of whatever we should have stepped out of

We may get all frozen in our thoughts

Not having the safety net we think we need

We postpone and postpone

Sometimes we even get ill

The worry gets inside us and are stuck in our mind and body

Thoughts keep coming up like ghosts appearing and disappearing

Reminding you

"Wasn't there something I should have done?"

One single drop is the last drop you need

Letting the glass get full, flood over

We do that

We are human beings, it's in our nature

You need to be mature

Have done your thinking

Pros and Cons

Finally to see what you should do is a blessing

So let this frozen drop melt and be on your way

Swoooosch - off you go 😄

This photo became a Sundayspeech

I often wonder how photos speak to me - this one did for sure

Have a great Sunday!

The European name for the flower is a misuse of the Persian word for turban, a mistake probably originating in the common Turkish custom of wearing flowers in the folds of the turban. Or because this eastern flower resembled a turban when not in full bloom.

Once was a railroad bridge then converted to a road bridge, north of Byars, Oklahoma along the Washita River.

Looking close..on Friday.

CN 4795 & CN 4761 lead a short transfer out of the Port of Montreal as the snow falls. At right, a single tree has not shed all of its leaves.

Macro Monday. Single Use

Part of my morning ritual is to make tea, iced tea to be specific.

I always feel bad about using the teabag once and then into the trash it goes. Occasionally I do try to use the teabag twice but I don't get the caffeine fix nearly as quick.

HSoS to all participants!

The one nice thing about our unseasonably cool Spring so far is that the woodland wildflowers seem to be lasting longer. Fairly late for a bloodroot to still be blooming so perfectly! Photographed in Perrot State Park near Trempealeau, Wisconsin.

A photo of a building, with a single light, taken on the south side of Houston Texas, USA. The photo was taken with a Canon 80D, with an EF-S 18-135mm lens, with adjustments made during post-processing.

No single sentence better explains the motives and direction of Hopkins’s life than this: “Man is created to praise.” He believed it as wholly as a man can believe anything; and when regret or sorrow over anything in [Hopkins’] life comes to a critic’s mind, this must be remembered.

-Humphry House, The Note-Books and Papers of Gerard Manley Hopkins (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1937), 416.

A thought can gain strength and grow into poetry, a short story or even a book. All things have beginnings that are usually small and humble. Great songs begin with a thought that grows into lyrics. A musical note will grow into a melody, a chorus, a hook and a refrain. A single flower in a bud vase can become a flower bouquet when we give thought to something bigger. “A Single Thought” can change how we write a story and how the outcome of a story can change. Thanks for viewing my work. I just had another thought, Gratitude and Kindness can change a life, maybe even yours.
