Eastern Meadowlark
From Audubon:
A familiar bird, known by the black "V" on its chest when it sings from a fencepost, or by the flash of white tail feathers when it flushes from the grass. The clear whistled song of the Eastern Meadowlark can be heard in spring not only in the East but also in desert grasslands of the Southwest. Some scientists believe that the southwestern form is actually a different species. Other races of the Eastern Meadowlark are widespread in Central America and northern South America.
Photographed, of course, at Joe Overstreet Road.
Wikipedia: Mueang Sing is a historical park in Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. It protects the remains of two Khmer temples dating to the 13th and 14th centuries. It was declared a historical park in 1987.
The history of the site goes back to the period between 857 and 1157, a period when the Khmer Kingdom was flourishing. Records show that the town was abandoned until the reign of King Rama I. The name Mueang Sing first showed in the chronicles of the reign of King Rama I (1782-1809), when it was a fortified town protecting the town Kanchanaburi.
I couldn't resist another shot from our last Scotland trip, we were so lucky. I hope this weekends trip to the Lizard , cornwall will be as rewarding. Silver sings is by Caitlin Rose, and is perfect for one of the most sparkling walks.
A western meadowlark belts out a tune. One of many musical events heard daily at the San Louis National Wildlife Refuge.
Happy to be here again for short time, wishing you all a lovely September weekend!
just a tiny bit underexposed, handheld, manual, sooc, my favorites
"He said I look familiar, did we meet the other night?
Somebody once told me that there's two sides to life, what's yours?
I might have accidentally let the darkness eat the light."

A great day playing in the caves followed by a beautiful sky full of silver racing towards me. Silver Sings is by Caitlin Rose. I'm off volunteering today so should be fun.
Common or European Greenfinch (Chloris chloris) male
Our resident Greenfinch was signing for his mate yesterday.
Sing to me in hushed whisper
speaking to my soul.
Bring lyric to that part of me which yearns to freely flow.
Unlock the chains that hold me
unfolding wings fly free...
A melody hummed upon a breeze
Alas I'm finally Me
.
Shell
... and let the background dancers swing!
The blossoms around the cornflower look like little bird beaks that want to be fed or sing happily. Is not it?
Little summer feeling, defies all the rain coming down here the last days :-)
Thanks for the visit, much appreciated!

autumn brings changes in temperature and light. it’s a mindfulness practice to watch light shift, and there are plants still blossoming in my garden. there’s singing and dancing each night at sunset. i’m trying to savor these moments.
Canada warbler. Blue Ridge Parkway. May 2015.
The brownish 'blooms' in the BG are dried up rhododendron blooms from the previous season. I dream of such a shot with the added bonus of the rich color off fresh rhododendron blooms....maybe this year....
A Lilac Breasted Roller calls out. I am unable to access current images because of some computer issues. This image was taken years ago but edited today with Affinity Photo which is similar to Photoshop.
Und ich werde singen und tanzen. Mit weit geschlossenen Augen.

That’s my thing. At least dancing – and maybe sometimes with open eyes. Singing in the choir is unfortunately still canceled, I have to do that for myself for a while, like dancing ... In addition to the motif with the sheep, there was another one in the magazine that I couldn't resist – as hair accessories the googly eyes are also good ;-)

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud, sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

Love is violent, love is pure
Love is the answer, love is the cure
But love can kill you
If you lose someone
Nothing lasts forever
Love's a loaded gun
(Sing) for all the people that you've lost
For all the friends you used to trust
(Sing) for all the dreams you left behind
The more you love
The more you will suffer from pain
You're afraid of losing it all
Love's a cruel, cruel game
And the devil will smile
When he takes your love away
(Sing) for all the people that you've lost
For all the friends you used to trust
(Sing) for all the dreams you left behind
All the dreams you left behind
Sing
