A few large white geese have decided to make the are above the weir home. I think they are a domestic breed but are living feral. Just got this one in the frame before he moved!

This Grey heron is standing in river water up to the top of his legs, much deeper and he'd be wishing he was a swan! He is looking under one of the arches of a bridge known as Apostles Bridge. This area is tidal and is kept under water by a weir dam along the other side of the bridge.

Stagecoach have once again re-introduced a direct link from Ayrshire to Silverburn, following from the previous ill-fated X72 service back in 2007. The new service, named X17, starts from Ayr via Kilmarnock, onwards to SIlverburn and terminating at Hamilton via Cambusland & Blantyre. The service is running on weekends only on a 2 hourly frequency. Vanhool's 50212/6 had the honour on the first day of the new service.

Seen at Silverburn Shopping Centre is the third of First Glasgow's heritage repaints in the form of 37751 - SF09LFB to celebrate their upcoming 125th anniversary.
I was standing on a small bridge over a stream as it flows into the Silverburn river in Ballasalla.Its not a big fall but to get a different view would be quite hard as there is no easy access to the opposite bank.

One of the three heritage-liveried buses with First Glasgow is this Volvo B9/Wright Gemini. It has spent a year in the 1960s colour scheme and is a credit to First. They’ve really looked after all three. 37738 has been the most active during the lockdown phase and was caught on Glasgow Bridge heading for Silverburn (aka the Pollok Centre).

The well-worn steps and cobblestones of the 14th Century Monk's Bridge at Ballasalla in the Isle of Man.
Also known as 'Crossag' in Manx, meaning "little crossing", the bridge was built in 1350 AD by the Cistercian monks of Rushen Abbey (est 1134 AD).
This pack-horse bridge allowed the monks to pass over the Silverburn River near the Abbey so they could travel to their northern farms. It is believed to be the best example of medieval bridge in the British Isles.
