Macro Mondays
Theme: Chocolate
Size: Less than 3x3 inches
I placed a silicone basting brush on top of a small porcelain bowl on the kitchen bench top.
I then dripped Chocolate Topping on the top of the basting brush and waited patiently for the topping to trickle down. Try as I may I could not get two drops falling at the same time !
This is the closest I get!
Natural light through the glass windows and an LED torch at
4 o'clock. You can see the reflection of the torch on the drops.

for Macro Mondays. These were one of my options for last week's theme, pastel, but I retook some photos for Ridge.

Apart from the fact this kneeling woman is about one half natural size, one must do a double take not to be convinced this is just sculpture.

A collapsed large evanescent bubble made of a thick iridescent silicone/plastic material. It was a 20 foot tall art installation that was deflated to protect it from high winds. Inflated or not, it has an interesting abstract texture and coloration as seen here as it lies on the ground.
HMM. Thanks to my wife for the idea. This is a close up of a silicone scrub pad from the kitchen. I really tried to get the fibers and dust off it, but it held onto them like crazy! This was a little challenging to light, the image preview on the camera did not indicate how blown the red could get from the flash. It took some trial and error and several trips to the computer to work out the proper flash distance and angle. Strobist info: One YN 568EXii to the left of the camera, modified with a small softbox and fired at 1/2 power. The YN was attached to the camera with an OCF cord.
The silicone molds used to make Buffy's eyeglasses. All mold vents and gates are on the side facing away. It is important to have these on the inside of the glasses, for cosmetic reasons. You are seeing the "outside" sides of these molds.

Silicone Brushes - I use them on my BBQ grill to spread various sauces (artfully, of course) - brush doesn't burn/melt and is easy to clean in the dishwasher after.
