Silent Disco at Lincoln Center. Part of the Summer For The City programming.
Silent Disco participants wear headphones to hear the music. If you look closely at the boy and the woman in the lower right corner you can see the headphone's glow.

The Silent Disco tent at the Dutch Festival. Excellent idea, this - you can speak to people without shouting, dancers can listen to different tunes, and it's great to see people getting down without knowing what they're listening to :-)

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
Previously unpublished archive shot from July 2019.
The 'Silent Disco' trend really took off in the summer of 2019. Did the pandemic put an end to this craze? One can hope.
They were annoying to come across on the narrower streets in the city as they danced their way through expecting others to move out of the way. Not out of a sense of entitlement I think but mostly just because it was an exuberant crowd. I'm not usually such a sour puss but there was something about these things that just irked me.
I hope that you all have an awesome weekend my Flickr friends. Either with or without music - keep those shutters clicking and stay safe.

Group enjoying a silent disco (which isn't really that silent, given they were all singing along to music only they could hear on their headphones!!) as they descend Victoria Street.
Silent discos are a quite common at the Edinburgh Fringe, but are a hazard to traffic as those taking part are oblivious to where they are. I think they are coming under greater restrictions, this one was in a pedestrianised area.
