Do not know what it is, just looked mysterious :) Found a few of these wooden artifacts between the lake and the train rails / train crossing. They are just 70 cm high. Nearby Leiden / The Netherlands
seems like a lot of signs for a village with only two streets. and since I grew up in the East where all roads have either a route number or a name, the concept of 627 streets in a rural area hasn't quite sunk in for me.
My signed copy ofDavid Lynch's film of eraserhead, which I bought off his website years ago (he sold signed copies.
I've not actually met Lynch personally, but I have seen him speak in person & have spoken to him via Skype at a Twin Peaks event.
I did get Charlotte Stewart (Mary X) to sign it at the 2012 Twin Peaks Festival.
That is also an original Twin Peaks Fire Walk with Me poster on my wall.
The sign very clearly states Footpath Only - No bikes, horses or vehicles. Perhaps tractors are excluded
So I asked the two snails I was following if they were allowed on the path because it is a "FOOT" path.
There is finally a hint of spring in the trees and hedgerows
This is Whixley Field Lane which passes Whixley Field House on its way to Score Ray in North Yorkshire, England
This made for a worthy Monochrome picture. That central rock stood out nicely, but I lost the wonderful splashes of green and the intensity of the summer sunlight (which I really like).
The only reason I would see, appreciate, and even attempt such a scene is due the the industrial walls of Lewis Baltz, many of them quite difficult to visually digest.
It’s not about the sign, but the presence of the image.

The lanes are still a going concern. I'm not sure exactly how old the sign is but I know it's been there since the mid 1960's.
