I started to exercise this day, but only half an hour on the elliptical machine. Then in the shower I remembered that I wanted to take a picture against the light. I like it simple. In other side i dont know how many days i'm behind so i have to check hahaha .

Spent the day with my brother the other day while he got his new tattoo-looks good & really suits him. was fun to watch him in pain, but to see how happy he was after the fact!

After being cooped up in the house, my son felt well enough to get outside for some fresh air. Off to the branch we went! The engineer on NS 13R made my son a happy boy as she threw him a wave from the cab.

Just then Whitney Fairweather, who lives near Don's house, shouts: "Yeah, well, that also means we've been hearing him groan all morning!"
Still in Kootenay, but a much more recent shot (only ten years old!). The Vermillion River runs parallel with Highway 93, the park's only highway and the route that connects it with Banff, in Alberta. One afternoon I found a pullout, and after a short walk, this view along the shoreline, looking north.
It was late August, sublime weather - these were the years when forest fire smoke was not a huge factor - and although I was on my way to the west coast to visit a sick friend, I camped in the park for two nights and hiked a couple of the shorter trails. That brought back memories. A few years earlier, I used Kootenay as the starting point for a fairly long backpacking trip into Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. It's the most physically challenging way to access this spectacular area, but the up side was pretty special: nobody uses this route. So I had a couple nights of very quiet camping at increasingly dramatic locations as I got up out of the forest and into the high country. I hiked this trail three times, in 1979, 1988, and 1990, and made it all the way twice. In 1988 a massive early snowfall forced me to turn back. These were my glory days, and every time I drive Highway 93 through this park, I get to relive them!
I used my trusty old (from 1981) manual focus Nikon 24mm lens for this, with a polarizing filter to intensify the colours a little. It's a great lens; I still use it occasionally.

I took this in the middle of the night on Ed and Frans balcony.
I loved both of the cats, but they were incredibly suicidal all the time.
They actually fought and chased each other on this railing, and as you can see its pretty damn fucking high. My heart always skipped a beat when I saw them doing this, but Ed told me its OK.

Dank der parallelen Führung des RE 3 und RE 4 zwischen Berlin und Luckenwalde/ Jüterbog kann man bei günstiger Lokstellung die Sicken der Baureihe 112.1 oder auch 114 teilweise im Halbstundentakt erleben. Aber insbesondere der RE 3 ist oft mit Nordlok unterwegs, und die Baureihen 146 und 147 sind mindestens ebenso präsent. Hier sehen wir die 112 190 vor dem RE 4.

I have been ill for like two weeks now, feeling dizzy and sick, and now for the past few days I can't breathe properly. Like always the doctors are useless. I have been twice already, I might have to go back. They say it is just a virus but how can they tell without doing tests? I am meant to be going to an art gallery tomorrow which I'm excited about but may have to cancel as I might now be well enough.

Second day of our trip, second hotel. It was really nice, right on the beach overlooking the water.
I have been in the sick bay since Oct 14, well it's pneumonia, I have had some heavy duty Penicillin top of the drug chain. But still I remain run down, coughing, feeling like crapola. I am at a loss, any cures would be welcomed.
I haven't visited much, I am not super creatively inspired, everyday is a struggle.
Looks really good in black. I on the other hand don't look good in black.
