Our mating Peregrine Falcons take center stage on that SoCal oceanside cliff with the waves still rolling in. I can't believe after a few trips every year cross town to see them, I finally got the elusive mating sequence up close and more or less front side. Once more I would draw attention to the gentle care the male uses with those powerful talons folded in as he balances on her, and she's using her wings a bit as well. An epic couple; Tuzee's legacy lives on another year. For those wondering, they mate often, several times a day even, but not always on a prime stage like this one.

I promise to offer a different subject tomorrow. Promise. I still have a couple thousand horse images. 😊

This is the ancient Greek theatre of Taormina in Sicily. The theater was built in the third century BCE. Mount Etna, partially covered by clouds on this image, offers a spectacular background and may steal your attention momentarily from the stage.

Well not quite…Cormorants hold their wings out to dry because their feathers aren’t waterproof. The reason for this is their wettable feathers which don’t repel water allow them to dive down deeper for food.
