Snowy Egret in Mating Colors and Feathers
Snowy Egrets show their plumage during mating/breeding season. They start to show in early spring and keep their feathers for quite a while. Their beaks turn more of a yellow/orange/red color during the season. You will find these birds in shallow salt and fresh water areas with a small flock wading and dancing about. They will approach one another, start squawking, inflate their feathers and chase each other about. Sometimes they will start jumping in the air flapping their wings and dance around one another until one gives up and backs off.
One of the many pictures that I took of the northern lights show last Saturday along the Denali highway.

Easter is here this Sunday. No Easter Car Show in Forest Park this year due to the COVID. I guess we'll have to let these old cars get 1 year older before we see them next year.

Golden retrievers getting ready for the Abilene Kennel Club dog show. A whole arena full of show dogs of a huge variety of breeds. Another building housed the dogs and trainers housing obedience showings. The dog shows are so much fun to photograph. Unless you're allergic to dogs.
This red winged black bird gave the best display that I have seen one give. The light condition were horrible but he put on a wonderful show.

One of the winners in its class in the Equine section at Driffield Agricultural Show in East Yorkshire,
Whatever the weather, I always enjoy spending a couple of hours alone up here on this limestone plateau. The world rushes by far below on the M6 Motorway and it slows to a tranquil beauty up here with views in all directions of landscape beauty.
The Dales to the East, the Lakes to the North and Morecambe Bay to the West it is so well placed.
Anyway, I waited until well after sunset on this evening and I was treated to some lovely post sunset colour. The beauty of this time of year is that sunset is now so early ar 4.15 pm and you can enjoy its show and still get home for Dinner.
