Its not always window vinyl that makes the best impact, lightboxes can make great eye-catching installation pieces, particularly at night where they are backlit against the street.
Sheridan&Co were given the task to translate this premium Italian brand and create an appropriate retail site that would sit comfortably within a supermarket environment. The challenge was to strike a balance between showcasing a premium, consultation-based cosmetics brand and combine the practicalities of a self-select unit in a 24 hour supermarket. These images show what we created for their site located in Tesco’s, Dudley.

What a week!
Ok, look at the track record...
We've never been the tidiest department in the school but the last week has redefined chaos. We're no strangers to hyperbole but 'chaos' is too tame a word for the aesthetic shambles the dept appears to be in right now. As all graphics students will know first appearances can be deceptive. In the midst of our apparent mess 'green shoots' of recovery are already apparent.
These shots seem pretty random but, as ever, magic is stirring in D&T right now. Draw your own conclusions.

In cooperation with Umdasch Shopfitting, Europe’s leading shop design firm, fashion retailer RAG and electronics giant Samsung, Ars Electronica Solutions developed this interactive Shopping Wall that lets customers browse a product portfolio in a variety of ways. They can interact with the Wall via RFID codes on physical objects, and an entire line of merchandise can be examined close-up via an intuitive interface.

Many work spaces and offices have internal glass walls to make best use of the light. These can also be branded like this example for Overbury. Printing onto translucent vinyl allows you to stagger the amount of light coming through whilst creating a great display.
Another mannequin for sale at Shopfittings Direct, at 219-225 Commercial Road, in Whitechapel, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which has a way of attracting attention, and a comprehensive website. Petersfield Cottage is an existing thatched cottage on its own island on the Norfolk Broads.
Whilst the client wanted a contemporary building to replace the existing cottage we encouraged an aesthetic that would echo the local vernacular and sit comfortably as a waterside retreat.
The thatch roof was retained as was the weatherboard cladding but the cantilevered gable end was designed to bear semblance to the local boat houses. The decking encircled the whole building and joined the mainland via a foot bridge enabling access to the property even during flooding.
Halifax's magnificent and marvellous Borough Market is currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment but on a recent visit the internal scaffolding is now down and work continues on various internal fixtures and fittings. This has included uncovering some older shop signs that add to the wonderfully eclectic mix of façades and nameboards.
The Concorde coffee house displays the sloping nature of the site that is reflected in the façade and stepped interior. The Perspex and the nomenclature - coffee house, grill and griddle - hint at a '70s modern!
The splendid Victorian pile, and associated shopping arcades, was designed by local architects Joseph and John Leeming and opened in 1896. It helps complete what is one of Britain's most complete Victorian town centres.
