Great horned owl,Bubo virginianus, perched after twilight. Civil twilight ended over 5 minutes before this image was taken. I resorted to hand held bursts at around 1/125 sec. and hoped that a few would be sharp. Or else the iso would have had to be over 500 which I wanted to avoid due to the grain and noise issues. Meditation and other techniques have been worked on to help calm down the heart from beating so hard and making camera shake worse. These efforts seem to paying off with improvements that I want to push even further. why spend 4 thousand extra for a lens when you can get similar results by other methods? Color cast from the yellowing at this time of night is still a issue. If you don't like the cast and consider it repulsive feel free to voice your opinion. Or even better is some advice of how to get rid of it. I corrected the white point,black point, and middle gray point, which helped immensely.

Summer's End: Summer's End: Sea Green Strut: Now that it's too cold to do outside portraits for the most part, we celebrated Halloween by doing a summer's end themed photo session.
Silent Grace: Study in Light - Warmth meets stillness. This portrait explores the intersection of traditional surroundings and a modern, piercing gaze, balanced by the soft diffusion of an octagon softbox. I experimented with both color and monochrome for this session. Which version do you feel better captures the 'stillness' of the moment? Let me know your preference.

Sea Green Defiance: Summer might be over, but the sparkle didn’t get the memo. A quick Halloween session turned into a farewell to warm days, part tease, part defiance, all attitude.
