How cool is this. A restaurant that has fresh Crab or Shark. I didn't realize people ask for fresh Shark that much. Seems like they must or maybe it's just a specialty of the house.

Saw my old college room mate the other day. He was somewhat younger than I because I went into the military before college. I started talking to him and he looked at me and said, Jim is that you....So, I decided I'm never going out again

They are talking about going to tier 5 here, whatever that is. The only place I go is to the bathroom and the grocery store. Don't know how I can stop either one of those events.

My wish is to ride the tempest and tame the waves. I will not resign myself to the usual lot of women who bow their heads and become concubines......

Rare to have both sons home over the Thanksgiving holiday, so we spent a pleasant hour at the billiard parlor. . .Lynn snapped this image on her cellphone.

So.. I was invited by Kaelyn Alecto to go to the beach... but little did I know that there would be sharks! We had to sacrifice Tinuxdotnl to save our own lifes, sorry about that :P

It was a fun shoot, with lots of great people! See in the tags who, and look for their versions of this pic :)

Zebra shark (Leopard Shark in Thailandia) are nocturnal and spend most of the day motionless on the seabed. At night, they actively hunt for mollusks , crustaceans , small bony fish, and occasionally sea snakes within the cavities and hollows of reefs . Although solitary creatures for most of the year, they form large aggregations during the mating season. Zebra sharks are oviparous: females lay several dozen egg capsules, which they attach to underwater structures with adhesive filaments.

Zebra sharks are harmless and pose no threat to humans. They are very popular in public aquariums and on diving excursions. The World Conservation Union lists the species as Vulnerable worldwide. The main threat to the species is commercial fishing throughout its range (except in Australia) for its meat, fins, and liver oil. In recent years, statistics suggest that its population is declining.

As we were walking back from the point, a local fisherman reeled in a fish. It turned out to be a baby Sand Shark. He had trouble getting it off the hook, so Bill jumps in and grabs it and removes the hook. I'm like, NO WAY, I'm doing that.

An art installation on The Regent's Canal in Hoxton, Hackney by Jaimie Shorten made in fibre glass which won the 2020 Antepavilion. An annual art contest.

Since they were completed in 2020 there has been quite a controversy with Hackney Council over planning permission resulting in them being stored on a covered barge and then temporarily displayed at Islington Boat Club. In 2024 Hackney Council lost against an appeal and they returned.

I thought I'd post this rescan of the D&H RF16s at Wells, MI to go along with the news that one of the Sharks, the 1216, was on the move, at least for a short trip. I happened to catch a video yesterday on You Tube by Ron Asselin showing the 1216 moving from the warehouse in Escanaba to the Escanaba & Lake Superior facilities at Wells. The old Baldwin was in rough shape and missing its side panels. It was being pulled by one of the ELS switchers, but at least it was moving on its own wheels. Why was it being moved to the shops is the billion dollar question. I know that the plans are for the two sharks to be donated to a museum after Mr Larkin, the owner, passes. I hope he is still enjoying good health; he has assembled quite a collection that he keeps private. Sure, it's sad that we can't see them, but at least they are out of the elements and being preserved. Hopefully, the time will come when they will be displayed for all to see.

Thanks to Ash for showing me this on the MP!

I apologize to anyone who has experienced a real attack.

This is what happens when I try to take a shortcut home to make it in time for dinner and end up choosing the least safe route. Sammy and I almost became dinner ourselves!
