INDIEN, Itimad-ut-Daulah - Mausoleum

A Friday mosque built in 1437 by Ulugh Beg in honor of his father Shah Rukh, its name meaning “Blue Dome”. Located immediately behind the Kok Gumbaz Mosque is the so-called “House of Meditation”, a mausoleum built by Ulugh Beg in 1438 but apparently never used for burials.

Kuk Gumbaz Mosque is an architectural monument located in Shahrisabz, Qashqadaryo Region, Uzbekistan. The mosque was built between 1434 and 1435 by Ulug Beg Mirzo for his father Shah Rukh Mirzo. Historical inscriptions with the names of the Timurids and the time of construction have been preserved in the porch of the mosque.

Kuk Gumbaz Mosque is the main mosque in the ensemble of Dorut Tilavat (located in the south of Shahrisabz, near the "Chorsu" shopping complex). It was built on the opposite side of Gumbazi Sayidon Mausoleum and Shamsuddin Kulol Mausoleum.

The dome of the mosque is lined with mosaic brick tiles with inscriptions written in the Kufic script. In the middle of the border, verses 1–3 of Surah "Fath" of the Holy Qur'an were written in large white letters on a yellow background. Under the dome of the mosque, the text of the Holy Qur'an "Sura Juma" was written in small letters on a blue background. This part was later repaired.

Mosque has a large dome covered with blue tiles which inspired the mosque's name.

This village called Bhuman Shah is in the Jurisdiction of P.S. and Tehsil Dipalpur of district Okara. It is located at a distance of 24 kilometers from Dipalpur on Dipalpur-Haveli Lakha road. According to Bhai Kahan Singh Ji, Dashmesh Ji had given blessing to Bhai Bhuman, Shah that his langar would continue serving.

The shrine is built in the style of a big fort and inside this fort-like structure the Gurdwara of Baba Sri Chand, residence of Baba Bhuman Shah , the Samadh of various Mahants are located alongwith hundreds of rooms for visitors, langarkhana and the tank.

There are four big gates to enter this shrine and the walls are decorated with colourful pictures the sayings of Gurus. More than 1000 Ghumaon of agricultural land is endowed to shrine. This building is now in charge of the Evacuee Waqf Board. The present condition of the building is miserable, the walls have developed cracks and the roofs have collapsed. In case this building collapses in the time to come an invaluable treasure of art will also be destroyed with it.

Note: I'm rushing to my in-laws now, so have a great week my friends! One more thing, the new Flickr mobile interface is somewhat buggy and preventing me from commenting on your photos. I think I'll switch back to the old Flickr mobile interface.
