Alright! For people who think taking a picture from a camera is good enough! Think again. This picture is 50/50 of camera and post processing. I would never post the real one for sure.
How it was shot
With a gun ofcourse, lol. Ah just messing! I was in this park and this guy was waiting with his net. He was trying to spot a big fish and catch it with his net. I don’t know if you guys know this procedure , but it’s very tricky and needs skill. However in short he was trying to catch a fish and I was trying to shot him in action which I did ofcouse as you can see. Shutter speed was 1/400 and aperture 7.1 in focal length of 70mm(I was very close to him).
Post Process
Now at this point this is just another shot in raw format. 1st thing what I looked is to check the colour difference. This has so much green in it and very low brightness since I shot it in ISO 100 because I didn’t like the grain it generates in high ISO. However I decided to check in Linear contrast which gave the image nice eye catching night glow colour as the image was already low in brightness. I was editing this in Digital Photo Professional(this came with canon camera) and from there I transferred it to Adobe photoshop.
In adobe 1st thing I did was to give it a very tight crop clearing out the plants and few surrounding tree leaves. In this process this old man lost few parts of his elbows and almost all part of his fishing net. Now I wanted to see how it looks in black background as flickriver shows. I then added a black background and it looked amazing(atleast to me, at this point I don’t know how you guys would like it).
Now since the original picture is darker and edges are poorly visible, I had to correct it. This correction then gave rough tone to it. I got rid of that by adding a blurred layer on top of the picture for a softer look.
However, something was missing and that was the dramatic effect of lighting. I just used a spot light from the filters and got this final result.
Conclusion
Most of the pictures in flickrs with big wows and comments have gone through some post processing. This is not a bad thing but personally I would want a picture without any need of post processing :”)

Sky was blue, bright sun was out and sometimes cloud covering it in a hurry. I was under this flower and it was moving on passing wind. Moment I shot it, sun broke out from the clouds, almost blinding me. However this flower came out perfectly in the middle without me needing any crop or alteration. Except may be the colour tone :”)

I have recently made a tour to the Finlays Tea garden and this is where my photo begins. I will update everyday from that series.
“Nilkantha Tea Cabin” is located in Ramnagar Monipuri Para in Srimangal(near Sylhet) started its business in 2003. Inventor Romash Ram Gour told me it took him almost two years to come up with this formula. This tea has five different blends on top of each other’s as layers and each taste different. Top layer tea is green tea, 2nd is type BT-1, 3rd is BT-2, 4th is again green tea and at the bottom it has clone tea. His trick is to boil those teas into different temperature and pours those into non mixable layers.
He told me about the ingredients without any hesitation; but totally refused to show me the process of making layers. This is very much understandable since he makes this tea inside locked doors where only he himself is allowed.
I was very excited to taste it since this is not a regular drink and certainly I have never heard or seen layers in tea before. His tea cabin got packed as soon as it opened and inventor/chef got busy himself making it. I ordered for the main attraction which is obviously the “five colour tea” with a loud voice. There were people like me in the cabin; few foreigners were there as well. Everyone had the same enthusiasm.
It arrived after couple of minutes later. For such grand tea formula, the tea glasses were very ordinary. They bring the glasses inside another glass full of warm water so that tea stays warm. I hurriedly drunk the big one (5 colour). 1st layer was spicy and rest was milk/ginger/lemon etc. The layers didn’t get mixed while I was drinking from the glass. It wasn’t hot like a normal milk tea.
This tea cabin only serves tea, nothing else. Then again it doesn’t need to sell anything else either, people only come here for the interesting tea. But if you want snacks to go with it, there is a small shop next to it where you can find cookies to mint gums.
In my brief interview with Romash Ram, I asked if he wants to expand to other places. His simple answer was NO. He is used to getting big offers from big cities in Bangladesh along with different countries, but the fear of losing his trade secret made him cautious.
A glass of five colour tea would cost 50BDT($1=70BDT), however if you want to drink it, you have to think about adding your travel cost with it.
It’s not a regular drink, but it would be fun to try it for once.

This is one of my favorite pictures at this moment. I simply love it! Its colourful and giving me cool refreshing feelings even though it's a dark photography.
If you ask me how it was done, here it is, there were two boats and left side boat was throwing out excess water. I did linear edit, white balance setting and curve edit in the raw file. And last bit was to
get rid of few extra shapes and distraction in photoshop. This is not an indoor shot. Don't attempt to replicate it indoors.. You will seriously get wet. lol

It falls on April 14 or April 15 of the Gregorian calendar depending on the use of the new amended or the old Bangla calendar respectively. In Bangladesh, it is celebrated on April 14 according to the official amended calendar designed by the Bangla Academy.
Poila or Pohela Boishakh is also known as Noboborsho (নববর্ষ), or Bengali New Year, as it is the first day of the first month of Boishakh in the Bengali calendar. This day is a very festive time for Bengalis.

"Life Is What You Make It"
It was raining all night and after a brief break, it started raining again. The weather is still warm and humid even it was pouring down. i was waiting in the car for my friends to return and wasn't very happy about the performance of the 2x II Extender attached with my 70-200mm. cause of the rain and dark clouds, all day relatively stayed on the darker side. It made me wondered if a flash photography is possible for shooting birds in flight, lol.
I was parked infront of student hall and there is a road reaching extending out towards the main road. As Friday was public holiday, it made the road stay empty most of the time. The rain was changing its pattern from drizzle to shower to cats & dogs. I was sort of enjoying the sound of rain all around me, it was relaxing.
I was thinking about taking some pictures of the rain but with the extender attached, I thought it would be a bad idea. There wasn't anything to shoot anyway. To my delight, a dancing figure emerged from the curve, I saw her red dress in the distance in the dark. She was all jumpy splashing water here and there enjoying the rain, a happy face all around.
I opened my window but the rain was very angry, in few seconds, the lens hood got covered with water drops. I shot few times and found totally dark pictures. I have changed the setting but the girl was moving further more. Finally I had two/three shots before she disappeared. She never saw me thanks to my crappy extender.
She was a little one, what was fascinating about her was that she was holding her hands out and was feeling the rain drops. Her smile was wide open and clearly she was out of the world in her mind enjoying every bit of rain. I don't remember my 1st rain, but every summer during the 1st rain, I do feel going out and enjoy a splash.
There is sadness in this picture. A lonely kid on the street never makes a happy scene. This picture speaks to me, but I don't recognize its language. Maybe it's the picture of loneliness masquerade in rain in a shape of immature heart on the road of life or it's just a picture of the rain, nothing else.

The guy who is throwing stones is a labor in Bholaganj stone mining area. His duty is to collect stones from the boat in shortest possible time. It was very hypnotic to watch the way he was throwing stones, none of those were getting scattered. It was obvious that he was doing it for such a long period of time that his body adopted a rhythmic motion which generated consistent pattern of placing the stones in limited space. You can see I was sitting just infront of him without feeling any risk. If I had to do the job, I would have probably injured people nearby.

"I like the general dark feel to the image, and the localized depth of field. It definitely draws your attention to the subject(s).
Of the two objects in focus, they carry complementary themes, at least to me. The child's face shows strong emotion - despair, worry, general anguish. The man's hands are clasped in an aspect that to me implies resignation, waiting. This interpretation in particular appeals to me - it illustrates both the primary theme of restriction, jailing, being barred, whatever - and the secondary and more personal theme of the different perspectives of youth and adulthood in this scenario.
Certainly well executed, in my book. The general desaturation definitely helps set the tone and mood.

Friend of mine got married, it was very colourful. Bangladeshi wedding is full of noise and colour. Lot of people attending the wedding and bride & groom are never left alone. It’s too much stress for them and bad news for photography. I have managed to get some shots; I am happy how it turned out without flash.

Early winter morning, sun just broke free from the fog. The big river was full of life. I was crossing the ferry. Every pull of the net, the boat kept coming towards me. I had to leave before they were close enough. The backlight sun created excellent silhouette.

This man was trying to catch some fish. he been throwing his net for a while, and i was following him. I didnt see any fish in his net all those time. I would be surprised if there were any fish left in that river among thousands of fishing trawlers we passed few hours back.

Ship breaking yard always was my fascination. Giant oil tankers like this one will be cut down to pieces within couple of months by such tiny people. You can’t feel the depth of this area unless you are there. I own couple of domestic ships; their bodies were built entirely from these giant tankers. Right now our entire iron industry is highly depended on the deaths of these massive iron giants.
In this picture, you can see a ship breaking yard labor returning from his post. This is low tide in the sea, the muddy beach got exposed. Your feel goes upto knee high deep in those mud. If you see closely, you can see a tiny man next to the oil tanker. That can give you some idea about the height of the tanker. The size of this tanker was 12,000 ton. Usually they break over 15 to 20 thousand ton capacity ships.

Cleaning sand with sieve, she earns about 50tk a day working from sunrise to sundown, that’s less than a dollar. The colour mood doesn’t go with such suffering of life type picture, but I would like to see her in a much better bright, blue, sunny place with a school bag in her hand. You can’t see her face properly, but it’s not hard to imagine how she would look like as we have seen many like her in our daily life.

Two brothers were walking holding each other's while me and my buddy Nigel returning to our hotel in the St.Martins Island. They got distracted with Nigel as he was a white guy probably these two kids never seen a white person before. However they stayed steady (usually kids runaway far from Nigel) while Nigel was taking their pictures.
