Friday, October 18th was our 14th annual Women Making a Difference luncheon! womenmakingadifference.net/ The event helps support Family Support Center and Kids First Children's Advocacy Center, programs of Rural Resources. Actor Danny Masterson is accused of brutally raping three different women between the years of 2001 and 2003. The actor, who is most known for his work on "That '70s Show" and "The Ranch," was taken into custody and is now facing three counts of rape by coercion or terror. He has entered a not guilty plea to the allegations and is now free on bail.
Masterson was initially the subject of charges in 2017, but it wasn't until 2020 that he was finally accused. Masterson has refuted the allegations and asserted that they are made for political reasons. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office has also come under fire from his defence team for handling the matter improperly and breaching his rights.
A fresh discussion about sexual assault in Hollywood and the entertainment business as a whole has been started by the case. The business has come under fire for not doing enough to safeguard women and prosecute offenders.
It is unclear how the case against Masterson will affect the entertainment sector and the larger societal dialogue around sexual assault and harassment given it is still in the early stages of development. Regardless of the verdict, Masterson's career and reputation have already been significantly impacted by the case.

April is National Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Month. The Army's Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program exists so the Army can prevent sexual harassment and sexual assaults before they occur. Our goal is to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual harassment by creating a climate that respects the dignity of every member of the Army Family.
Throughout the month, Tripler held showings of the "Invisible War," staffed information booths at the main entrances, encouraged staff to participate in Denim Day, and held an observance ceremony April 26.
