A short wheel base hardtop Series 3, seen on a recent walk.

The graceful Impala is a slender, medium-sized antelope that can be found only in Africa. It lives in grasslands, savannas and light woodlands, usually close by water. The Impala is preyed upon by most of the large carnivores, and should one of them spot danger, it will snort an alarm and the whole herd will scatter. It is one of the treats offered by nature to see this antelope perform their incredible 3 metre high and 12 metre long leaps. (Shingwedzi, Kruger National Park, RSA).

Hope you will enjoy this series.

In dark green it's easy to raise British feelings with a car. But this Lancia clearly denies those thoughts using its pure Italian lines.

One of the benefits of living in a village known for it's nature and tourism: When going out for a walk you might just bump into a group of classic cars visiting 'your' area.

It's only a puddle, I will get through!

This is inspired by a "picture from the internet" - not even google finds the original source...

I am well aware that this is different in many details, but this is how I could do it in Lego. Figures are so clumsy that the tilt of the car is opposite to what's sensible in real life - without a snorkel the motor would have stalled long ago. Smoking a cigarette at the same time? Impossible with arms that are completely off in proportions.

Oh, and imagine that his right hand is a bit lower and turned horizontally. I never see those details when setting up a shot, only an hour later, at home on the big screen...

Another of those details no-one but me will ever spot. I was able to change the front window of this series 3 Landrover from plain glass to split-window thanks to another part from Dianne. Who needs football goals in the backyard when you can make a Landrover instead? :o)

The main idea of this rover is still copied from Pixel Fox.

Field Marshall tractor, series 3 of 1951. The single cylinder engine is of about 6 litre capacity and started with smouldering saltpetre paper inserted via a hot bulb. This particular example is immaculate and a regular rally attendee. Always good to see.

Steenbok (Raphicerus campestris) – their diet consists mainly of green material such as young leaves, flowers, fruits and roots of various plants.

They are petite antelope, with long legs and an upright stance, their coat is a light golden-brown colour, the undersides are white. Distinctive markings: large eyes, ringed by a fine circle of white hairs, extremely large ears, and there is a slender black triangle which starts at the nose and tapers upwards. The male’s horns are straight, sharp, and very upright (Length ±7-19 cm).

Head & body length: ±70-95 cm Shoulder height: ±45-60 cm Weight: ±7-16 kg

The Jaguar XJ6 based Sovereign was first introduced in 1969 as the Sovereign Series 1, it was externally virtually identical to its Jaguar source car with the exception of its fluted grille and Daimler badging. Internally there were trim variations, such as the deletion of the wood door cappings fitted to the Jaguar and it was offered with the 2.8 litre or 4.2 litre Jaguar XK engine.

The XJ6 style Sovereign was updated to Series II for the 1974-79 model years with front and interior styling changes. with a raised front bumper and shallower grille; an extended wheelbase version was introduced, which eventually became the standard model. From 1975 the 2.8-litre was replaced by a 3.4-litre version of the XK engine.

The Series III XJ6 range, for the 1979-83 model years, was visually distinguished from the Series II by its new thicker bumpers, the removal of separate quarter light windows. from the front doors, and a revised rear roofline featuring a slightly more angular c-pillar. The Series III range initially continued to include a Daimler Sovereign, but in 1983, during the run of the Series III, the range was renamed with the base model named the Jaguar XJ6, the more luxurious version named the Jaguar Sovereign, and the top-of-the-range simply known as the Daimler,

The attractive 2 door Coupe was available between 1975-77 on the shorter wheelbase option. All Saloons from 1975 on the longer wheelbase.
