The serenade by the trees, welcoming sunrise. It was a fantastic time on this misty morning, putting the trees in a golden glow. I wandered around in this 1 square kilometer for more than two hours and enjoyed every minute. Purmerland, 2020.

And sooooo after a helluva long time away, me is back! At least in part, been so preoccupied with DIY, Home Improvements and painting, as well as just wanting to take a break from photography, I decided to take advantage of the sudden nice weather after a mild start to Spring. Went for my usual walkabout, which means wondering for miles in no particular direction in search of no particular shot and I accidently happened upon this cemetery.
I have to say, and in well meaning respects, graveyards are actually beautiful places, I do however draw the line somewhat, as I never take shots of actual grave stones identifying people, I never step over nor onto an actual gravesite and always say a quiet thank you, in respects for deceased occupier of the grave.
These flowers were at such an angle I caught the sun rays, which felt like life upon death, hence the word serenade came to mind.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
People watch the sun set and listen to the man melodiously plucking the strings of his guitar at the Erba Park northern point (where river and canal come together). Yes, it was a colorful sunset, but the silhouettes look good in monochrome, too. (In fact, the reflected colors on the water didn't look so good, no matter how I adjusted WB.) [DSC04980_lr_2000]

I chose a darker background for this rose to achieve a stronger contrast with the delicate pink of the flower. The result was not as expected, because I created a slightly strange image. It rather reflects a state of mind.

Franz Schubert, Staendchen/Serenade. Strange, the kind of thoughts welling up when looking at these tiny, tiny flowers. Ignore the Exif data, this shot was done with the Fuji X-E3 plus the Samyang mirror reflex 300/6.3 lens. This lens allows me to get really close which makes this shot almost a macro image.

It's a lovely sunny day today, so it's probably going to be butterflies this morning and the beach in the afternoon. The Small Pearl Bordered Fritillaries are on the wing now, so there's always something to see on my walks. I hope for more of those intense storms on the beach, we'll see.
