A handful of folks from my previous life have re-settled from Alaska to Sequim. One of the reasons for Sequim, versus virtually anywhere else in Washington, was the alleged sunshine when everywhere else was cloud covered.
This image was taken in February 2008 as I flew back to Alaska from Seattle. The entire state appeared to be socked in (fog, low clouds) except for this one area. I guess they were telling the truth!
Looking east from about 25,000 feet, that's Sequim and her sunshine.
Sequim K12 is an adult female Southern Resident orca estimated to have been born in 1972. Photo taken from a private boat.
