What the hell is he talking about! "The Terror: The Merciless War for Freedom in Revolutionary France" Many Amazon reviews of this and all his books likewise remark that much of his writing is unintelligable. It greatly slowed down the reading. It's unfortunate because he presented information that has not been covered in other "general" reader books on the topic. He needs a better editor.
