A 14th Century Masterpiece and true treasure to behold, Built in the Gothic style is the Royal chapel within the medieval Palais de la Cité, the residence of the Kings of France until the 14th century, on the Île de la Cité.

Bright lights and lasers, loud dance music and people yelling and talking and singing. Overloaded senses. Had to step outside for a while. But it was good.

For 120 pictures in 2020 #95 "Sensory", this is part of the Sensory Garden in the South Texas Botanical Gardens in Corpus Christi. The idea is to immerse yourself in the sights and smells of a lush garden. Right above the bench and firepit planter you can see part of the chandelier shown in an earlier shot.

can be a lot for someone like me to handle

a cacophany of stimuli
its difficult to make sense from the chaos
in general

just float around
taking pictures
but I show up

Hell's Haunted Exhibit is actually amazing and was well worth the effort.
I wonder if this is one of Queenie's off spring, she seems to be tolerated, with no apparent animosity,i see Queenie regularly, but never get in close enough for pics,
I spotted her ? just sat surveying the scene, then she turned to face me, then off she went.......
I think this worth viewing large, there are hi-lights all over.
Sounds good to me! 😉 But some may say it's too much of a good thing!

I discovered another flower growing in the garden today.
It's growing in an area underneath trees where I've cleared the ground as it was quite overgrown and messy.
Clearly there was once another pond in that area and a bog garden but all that remained was lots of bits of liner, plastic, carpet tiles (presumaby used as protection underneath the liner) and rocks buried under the soil.
There are also several of these plants which I've left as they were and after a Google search I learnt that this is a Stinking Iris, otherwise known as a 'Roast Beef Plant' due to the scent released from the crushed leaves. So of course, I had to crush a leaf to find out, and sure enough there's a distinct aroma of roast beef! from what I remember. I've been vegetarian for a number of years but I'm an ex chef and I also worked for a while as a food appraiser, so I have a keen sense of smell.
Who'd have thought it? Plants are amazing!
the place we go to take pictures with Santa is a place called Feeney's Nursery, in Feasterville, Pa. It has the most over the top holiday decor and decorations for sale.
I go on total sensory overload in this place!
I saw a lot of tempting goodies in this woodland themed room.
The peony in the image is a stunning specimen, characterized by its vibrant, hot-pink petals that unfurl in a lush, full bloom. Its large, rounded flower head is slightly asymmetrical, with some petals curving outward while others remain tightly layered, giving it a soft, romantic appearance. The petals have a velvety texture, typical of peonies, and their vivid color contrasts beautifully against the deep green, serrated leaves surrounding it. The plant appears to be thriving in a garden setting, with its foliage looking healthy and dense, suggesting it’s well-nurtured.
In the early morning, this peony holds immense potential to captivate and inspire. As the first rays of sunlight filter through, the dew-kissed petals would shimmer, enhancing their rich pink hue with a delicate, ethereal glow. The cool morning air would carry the peony’s subtle, sweet fragrance—a hallmark of the species—making it a sensory delight for anyone nearby. This peony could serve as a focal point in a garden, drawing the attention of early risers, from gardeners to pollinators like bees and butterflies, which are often active at dawn. Its bold color and elegant form make it an ideal candidate for morning photography, capturing the serene beauty of nature waking up.
Sensory perception in the bush is everything. Sight, smell and hearing are the components for survival. These dogs were searching for food in a tough water environment.

Well, a theme I have used today is about paths. Some may be less travelled and others heavily travelled. It just so happens amongst the next photos I had to upload, there seemed to be many paths.
Well, this is obviously a wide path and despite its looks, a quite fascinating one. It happens to be Burnett Lane in the city centre of Brisbane. It runs parallel to the Queen Street Mall between Albert and George Streets, behind shops fronting Queen and Adelaide Street. If you walk up it, you will find it is filled with interesting art, Blue Ninja cut outs, tiny doors (about 12 inches high and a feature round town), signs, murals, paste ups and you guessed it, graffiti. So if you are in Brisbane, take your camera. It even has a coffee shop embedded in the wall where the man is standing....he is not relieving himself in public!
