She was trying to be serious... haha. If you knew her you'd think this was hilarious!

This photo was taken on the first day of school in our district. As tradition has it, graduating classes from local high schools rise well before dawn and head to local beaches for Senior Sunrise. It is a wonderful tradition marking an import milestone in their lives. The fact that a large group of teens got up well before dawn on their own accord is a monumental achievement in its own rite. :)

My daughter, being a senior this year, made the start of a new day considerably more special to me. Thanks to Mother Nature's cooperation, they witnessed a beaut too. Here's to the Class of '26 -- may your year be a success!

Had a senior session today. I thought it would be a re-schedule since it started hailing 30 minutes before the set up time. I had to reschedule it once already due to bad weather. Luckily it turned out to be a nice afternoon. My wife chipped in to assist. Many thanks to her and to the young lady who was patient with a long shoot. During our pre-session meeting she asked for a field of flowers, bare-foot, natural look. I think we got it. :) For the garage sale junkies out there, the chair with cushion cost me ten bucks last weekend. Score!

WL X1600 in large soft box camera right, sun as rim light. Triggered with PW's.

A picture I snapped of my beautiful daughter while at my oldest son's wedding. It's pretty hard to resist a rope swing when you see one.

My senior pic form High school 1985.

Another from the Senior shoot but with a little editing.

Meet Kate,

A senior to graduate this 2011...

she is a fearless Soccer defensive Sweeper and a stunning model..

here we have her do a glam pose to show off her outfit in some alley..

Kate pulled the pose off like a pro..

we had to search for a cool spot for this pose.. and what i was looking for was some rim lighting.. i didn't carry but just one light with me tonight, so the rim light was a must when it is pitch dark outside.. one light isn't really enough..

mother boomed the quadra system with the 39 Deep Octa..

i had the light on the lowest power i think.. the sky port is very nice to work with.. and also the modeling lights on the quadra was a saver! i didn't have my speed lights on to auto focus and this modeling lamp worked like a charm..

i always forget that this lighting system has the modeling feature ! Duh!..

The abandoned Huey made for a perfect prop. It was pretty cold that day so we had to shoot fast. Lit with a beauty dish.

Megan Senior photos..

simple shot here

i have her laying on the steps near the courthouse in our town and this gives me a top down view of Megan

what this does is open her eyes and the light color concrete bounces light all over the place.

i have recently learned / stumbled across how to do this type processing..

i call it my WHITE PROCESS..

hopefully it works well for Megan..

her dad seems to like it..

looks like natural light.. but..

i did use flash on this shot some how.. that is what the data shows..

Did a shoot the other day of a friends little sisters coworker. Went to my favorite park here in Houston and took a whole bunch with natural light, just now editing and this is one of my favorites. <3 the colors.
