Early morning on a mountain lake is often gentle and an excellent environment for self reflection…this was such a morn!
Self-reflections. Flickring away (well editing, actually) stil in my pjs and suddenly thought to take this self-portrait through the mirror.
Reminds me of films about journalists, committed to their trade - chaotic office, at work all hours, and, of course, a NIkon camera :)
Texture by ghostbones.
The image for this postcard comes from a modified screen capture from a trailer for the TV show "Orange Is the New Black."
Photo captured from along the hiking trail at Trinidad Head in Trinidad. Humboldt County. Early May 2013.
No, FGR didn’t invade the cliché group again. Today’s challenge features the Self-Reflection group.
Right now I’m reflecting on why I don’t watch presidential debates, how come the only games my boys play with one another involve kung-fu, & how good that beer I’m going to crack open after this shoot will be. mmmmm, beer.
Gotta go…very thirsty.

Mental Health Weekend.
Which basically translates to taking care of business and of "self." Yesterday I hand washed, waxed & vacuumed the VW, something that in the past, was always a relaxing exercise. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday outside, and you can't beat the reflection of a grateful finish.

Self portrait in the bumper of an old cruiser in Atlantic City. This sky is no sky at all, it's a painted illusion on the ceiling of the "Tropicana Quarter". Everything here is fake but the car - and me, for sure.
Photo of the South Fork of the Pit River captured a few miles south of the city of Alturas and near the former settlement of Paola. Modoc County. "State of Jefferson." Mid June 2012.
Also kommt runter und entspannt Euch!
Also nochmal zur Erklärung:
Schreibt mich bitte einfach an!
Liebe Grüße
Roy

I’m not reinventing myself this year piersey.com/stopped-chasing-reinvention-life-calmer/ I’m choosing a quieter life. Here’s why simplicity, space, and fewer inputs finally made things feel sustainable.

I learned, last year, that my facial expressions often don't convey what I mean for them to-- in particular, that I am seen as angry or distressed when I am not. This isn't a good thing. So I worked on paying more attention to my expressions, and bought mirrors so that I could see what I look like. This one ended up in my hallway. I often blow myself a kiss when I am leaving the apartment. I think this helps me wear a happy face.

What a fantastic day it has been. The sun is casting such lovely long shadows this evening (as noticed while my dog was chasing a bitch on heat around the park!). I thought I'd go for the John Travolta look as I'm going to a 70's party on Saturday night and need to get into the mood.
I looked at the camera stats on Flickr earlier and the iPhone 4S is the most popular camera for uploads at the moment, with the Canon 5D Mark II coming a close 2nd. I can only profess to having an iPhone 3GS but it does the job...x
