Many wonderful volunteers that woke up early in the morning to help make onigiri (rice balls) for everyone at the shelter. The power of onigiri is truly amazing.
It's my first time sharing these images. I took them when I spent the first week after the earthquake and tsunami at a shelter. The shelter was actually one of my own elementary schools, so I wasn't just another person who just evacuated to this shelter. I worked there everyday with all the teachers and volunteers. We all tried our best to the make the situation better for everyone. The days were long and tough. But no matter how tired we were and how tough things got, we really tried our best.
