So, I had to abandon my "journal" image today because the conditions were close to perfect for creating and playing with frozen bubbles. I say close to perfect because we had a very slight breeze that kept blowing away the bubbles. I could only handle the cold for about 25 minutes at which point my fingers were too numb to continue.
Breaking in the new neighbors who moved in before the holidays, they were outside while I was bundled up, blowing bubbles and running around trying to catch them before they popped. They will get used to seeing me run frantically up and down the street, camera in hand trying to catch the right light.
It's Friday! Hope your day is full of fun opportunities to play a bit, like the simple pleasure of blowing bubbles.

Not a lot of time to take and process picture theses days. So here is a quite simple shot of the always nice Gretta Oto and its translucent wings. I took it on the Mainau Island in Germany. The Greta is always the butterfly I am happy to find in these butterflies greenhouses: it's like finding the rare pokemon of the place if you see what I mean ... Thank you for watching !
I wish I knew the histories of the many old places I see on our travels. I will always wonder what happened to the residents? Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I improvised a light box to shoot this. Not my usual dark and moody shot but liked the almost airport x-ray look to this!

A man fishes in the seafront of Thessaloniki, Greece, near a piece by Greek sculptor Giorgos Zoggopoulos. This sculpture of umbrellas, a known element in the visual vocabulary of the artist, was exhibited in the Venice Bienalle in 1993 and installed permanently near the seafront of Thessaloniki in 1997, when the city was designated the European Capital of Culture.
Back in 1884, Beimen, the North Gate used to be the main gate of Taipei. A friend told me that a lot of old things are fading away into history, and another friend has been keeping records of this city, Taipei's old buildings for years. A lot of my memories took place in Taipei. I guess it still takes me some short trips to keep records of the little corners and spots in the city.
