from wikipedia:
The new 7 World Trade Center construction began in 2002 and was completed in 2006. It is 52 stories tall and still situated above the aforementioned power substation. Built on a smaller footprint than the original to allow Greenwich Street to be restored from TriBeCa through the World Trade Center site and south to Battery Park, the new building is bounded by Greenwich, Vesey, Washington, and Barclay streets. A small park across Greenwich Street occupies space that was part of the original building's footprint. The current 7 World Trade Center's design placed emphasis on safety, with a reinforced concrete core, wider stairways, and thicker fireproofing of steel columns, and incorporates numerous environmentally friendly features.
Multi-layered high clouds created odd waves of light that accelerates in this time lapse clip. The ultra wide field of view probably enabled this optical phenomena to be recorded. Taken remotely with my NEST security camera in Vail, Arizona.

Picture of the Day
A bit of a different photo as I used a security camera to grab this one. A bit lower image quality that I like, but it does tell a story.
When we go for a family ski at the cabin we leave the dogs in the bedroom as we worry about the chaos from squirrel patrol if they had access to the full cabin. The bedroom is attached to a closet that has a window looking over the driveway. A couple of weeks ago we noticed that when we came home from a ski Aggie would be at the window watching us arrive. So, I set up one of the mini video cameras on motion detection and turned it facing inwards to monitor the closet.
Turns out that she only shows up in the closet when she hears us coming. She then barks to sound the raise the canine alarm, but after that leaves the closet to wait for us at the bedroom door. This is as far as Bruno made it into the closet after Aggie raised the alarm. Eva never showed up leaving home security fully in Aggie's capable paws.
Turns out that Aggie is high security, Bruno is low security, and Eva is no security.

Security in Large
A car approached me shortly after taking this and I was asked kindly to leave the place. This person also told me that she will note my personal data if I am still here in 10 minutes. I did not take those shots on private ground but public space, I only took images of those camera, the fence and a bit of grass. There were no signs saying that it is prohibited to take photos here. She also told me that this is: " No way to behave". I don't really know what she was referring to but I guess she meant that I had put my camera on a tripod to shoot at night in public space. One of my bad habits.
Very sedating to know how good those cameras are working isnt it?

OK, it's not my usual church image this Sunday. But religious symbols, like this old shrine to Mary on a Roman street corner, are as ubiquitous in this city as...well, as security cameras, which can be seen on the right-hand corner.
i like how light is used as design element in modern train stations. it's definitely no longer a "let's put some fluorescent tubes on the ceiling to prevent passengers from falling of station platforms and tumbling down stairs in the dark" approach
The two locks allow ships to enter and leave the harbour at Farmsum, the Damsterdiep river, and the Eemskanaal
NOTE: If you are seeing Moire patterns on the buildings it is the too-low resolution of your monitor that is the cause and not the photo
Todays post is gonna be short. I went to the airport to pick up my brother. On the way out I noticed this security camera hidden behind a sign. Really stupid planning from someone.
A North Korean soldier stands in front of the Panmungak (Panmun Hall). The building, constructed in 1969 and expanded with a third floor in 1994, is the office and command post for the North Korean guard force at the Joint Security Area of the Korean DMZ. The hall is also used as a stand-by room for the meetings held in the MAC buildings. Visitors of the JSA are constantly monitored by guards peaking through windows and the countless cameras installed (unless important visitors are in the JSA, when of course North Korean soldiers come all the way down to the MDL and stand right opposite their ROK counterparts, eyeballs almost touching). Apart from the strict behavioral code, meant to prevent a tourist doing anything stupid that could be seen as provocation and escalate further, there is a dress code that might be enforced to ensure that one’s “fashionably shabby” appearance is not used as propaganda in the North :-)
I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I
Can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me I'm a real live wire

It was a stinking hot day today, and I was installing a security camera, when I go distracted.
Trust me, I didn't stay dressed for the shot long.

Rainfall rates exceeded 5" per hour but this was at peak intensity. At least 0.5" fell in 10 minutes. Street flooding (standing water) was brief but roads exposed to adjacent dirt and some large rocks spilled onto streets; stopping traffic at one point.
