This temporary surveillance platform had five cameras that I could see outside of a new building under construction. I couldn't help but wonder if any of these are decoys or if recent stories of thieves pilfering construction sites for to steal fixtures and recyclable metals was driving contractors to desperate measures,

I didn't have much control over this camera, tho I did find it odd that its major function seemed to be to record another camera. hmm...

See all of the cameras? They made me feel safe. But then again an urban campus at the beginning of the summer on the weekend when school is not in session isn't all that terrifing. Still, the cameras and the Emergency phones on every corner do give one pause. There were also tons of cops, both campus and regular, everywhere. And security guards.

Today is the beginning of my 72 hours of duty. It's true that I'm back to work. However, there are at most 10 people in the building while I'm on duty, so despite the formality of being on duty, I feel more relaxed than part of the time I was in Bemidji.
