I'll take out the flare at some point. I think I'll just de-flare every photo in an intense photoshop weekend in the coming months. I dislike this one because it takes away from the security camera; I wanted that to be one of the mini-attractions in this photo.
So I learned a new trick for this shot. There was a street lamp right above where i took this picture and it was kind of annoying and intense. As I went to lean my bike against it, I accidentally hit it with a bit of force. The light then went dim, and stayed dim for enough time to get the shot. So if there's ever too much light from a streetlamp, just hit that shit, and things should be ok.
This was taken in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. That big EPA plant would be right behind where the camera was.

I think this is probably a little something that was purchased with a DHS grant...
Either way, it's rather intimidating...

The Silent Valley Reservoir is a reservoir located in the Mourne Mountains near Kilkeel, County Down in Northern Ireland. It supplies most of the water for County Down, surrounding counties and most of Belfast. It is owned and maintained by Northern Ireland Water Limited (formerly DRD Water Service). The reservoir was built between 1923 and 1933 by a workforce of over one thousand men, nine of whom died.
With Belfast's rapid growth, there was a fast growing demand for more and more water. The two existing upload water catchments were becoming increasingly insufficient. Local civil engineer, Luke Livingstone McCassey was appointed the task of finding a source of water large enough to sustain Belfast. Five potential sites were surveyed in County Down, and County Antrim. McCassey ultimately decided on the Mournes in Down. The reason the Mournes proved so popular with McCassey was the cleanliness of the water and the high amount of rainfall – both paramount factors in water sources. Upon deciding on the site, water commissioners agreed on building a 9,000-acre (36 km2) catchment area. This area is surrounded by the Mourne Wall, built entirely by hand, taking eighteen years to complete. At the time the catchment was capable of providing some 30 million gallons of water per day, but this was too much.
Slievenaglogh 586 metres
This is the higher of two peaks in the Mourne Mountains called Slievenaglogh, the other being situated further south, facing Slieve Binnian across the Silent Valley. This peak is east of Hare's Gap. On the western flanks is a huge granite boulder with a scooped-out face so that it resembles a giant's seat. Slievenaglogh is the 305th highest summit in Ireland.

The "Big Question" is always a question of balance. Sweet versus sour. Justice versus mercy. Security versus privacy. Here we see one of the ubiquitous security cameras that seem to have popped up everywhere. I have mixed feeling about them.
