I'm spending the winter months of 2014-2015 in a warm spot on the beach in Indialantic, FL (if I have Internet access, it doesn't matter too much where I'm physically located).
While most of my photos have been taken at sunrise, on the eastern side of the long island/sand-bar that runs from Cape Canaveral down to Port St. Lucie, I thought I should take at least one batch of sunset shots.
So I drove about 20 miles south, down to the Sebastian Inlet State Park, and found a long spit of land that reached out into the Indian River, facing due west.
I mounted my camera on a tripod, and took about 20 3-shot HDR compositions as the sun dropped down to the horizon.
As I waited for the sun to drop lower, so that I could take more shots, I looked around the area to see if there was anything else that I could photograph with my second camera -- a half-frame Sony RX10 camera.
Lots of birds: egrets, pelicans, opsrey, sandpipers, seagulls, terns, and a bunch more than I couldn't even recognize.
These are the ones that I thought were most interesting...
I bought this set on Ebay! The head sculpt is really good! The set also comes with a T-shirt, pants and shoes! I've been trying the head on diffrent bodies! I started with the TBLeague M34! I think this is the best choice! Of course I had to try an M35 too! I didn't like it but I'll post the pics soon anyway!

Over night in San Sebastian. Would love to spend more time exploring this town. Our first impressions of the Basque country were fantastic. We loved the people, the food, the architecture, the history and the pace of life there.
I FINALLY unwrapped him! His character isn't Sebastian tho because he gives me the creeps! His character name is Ashton Red Crystalia! :D his bio will be up later tonight! :)

Human Family portrait using the tree as a background. The only way I could get close enough to the tree to make it work placed me on a side that was poorly lit from the atrium. I decided to give it a go in spite of this challenge (and that of dealing with all the other people who were occupying the space taking selfies and conversing).
After waiting around for a few minutes, hoping I could make it happen, I spotted this young man with his explosive curls and animated face. He was with a couple of his friends and I approached him for the photo. It turned out he was from Panama but his English was quite good and he was eager to help me with my project. Meet Sebastian.
Sebastian’s friends offered to hold his backpack so we could make the photos. How helpful. I then politely asked a couple of chatting strangers to move aside to clear a path for the portrait. The light was very flat which didn’t help but I feel the dazzle of Sebastian’s smile and the sparkling tree lights made up for it.
It was at this point that I discovered Sebastian and his friends were part of a larger group of at least a dozen or more Panamanians, all of them English as a Second Language (ESL) students. They were on a field trip with their teacher and the group was in the process of moving on. At the risk of appearing to be a pest, I followed the group down the stairs to a lower level of the mall so I could exchange contact information and try to find out a bit about Sebastian as we walked.
I learned that Sebastian is 19 and has just been in Canada two days. He likes it very much so far but I didn’t have a chance to find out how long he will be here on his course or much else about him. His teacher was marshalling the group to continue on I didn’t want to overstay my welcome. Sebastian was a super-friendly fellow and would have happily stayed to chat but this wasn’t the time or place for it. We parted company with a warm handshake and I wished him an enjoyable stay in Toronto and success in his course. I also complimented him on his English which clearly pleased him.

SAINT SEBASTIAN's saint's day is today, FRIDAY JANUARY 20TH...SAINT SEBASTIAN FEAST DAY: JANUARY 20TH ....
Sebastian was a nobleman, born in Narbonne, who served around AD 283 in the Praetorian Gurad and was a favorite of emperor Diocletian. Sebastian practiced Christianity in secret, and was a success in the military. He was promoted to captain, though upon witnessing the horrendous torture of his friends and fellow Christians, Mark and Marcellian , he started to speak out which converted many with his conviction.
To punish Sebastian, Diocletian decreed that he should be shot to death with arrows. Sebastian miraculously revived after the execution and reproached the emperor.
The emperor promptly ordered Sebastian to be beaten to death with clubs and his body thrown into the sewers of Rome. Sebastian's body was recovered and buried near the relices of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. The church of Saint Sebastiano now stands on the Via Appia in Rome.
The most familiar images of Sebastian-tied to a tree, stake, or cross-being pierced with arrows, came about during the fifteenth century.
The patron saint of archers and soldiers, Sebastian was also invoked against the plague, which was said to strike quickly and be as deadly as an arrow.
(He has been embraced by some members of the gay community as the Patron Saint to protect against aids, as well, for his hunky representation in religious art.)
