La Mare de Déu del Consol ("Our Lady of Solace") , Altea, Spain

Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah

It is well known that the lakes in the Upper Engadine freeze at an altitude around 1800 metres in winter, and I wanted to experience this for myself. I travelled there in mid-February in the most beautiful weather - and it was far too warm for the time of year! But the Lake Sils was frozen and I - like many others - hiked across it to the mouth of the Aua da Fedoz. There, however, the lake was open and formed gorgeous ice sculptures. I just had to make sure that the ice under my feet was stable enough, a cold bath would have been a bit unpleasant...

Pareidolia is defined as a situation in which someone sees a pattern or image of something that did not exist.

This small sculpture I found on a recent trip intrigued me enough to have an impromptu photo session. I'm so glad I did. The image has seized my imagination, lending itself to stories galore.

By The way : Knokke, one morning

I took both the tours of Blanchard Springs Caverns in Arkansas. I'd never heard of this place, but it had huge underground rooms with lots of elaborate cave decorations like this and was every bit as good as Carlsbad Caverns. I didn't have a tripod, so I braced the camera on the railings where I could.

A carefully designed rock sculpture adorned with pick flowers stands proudly on a shoreline.

A section of a large sculpture by Henry Moore, temporarily, I would think, deposited next to Moore's Maquette Studio (Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire). I have not yet found out the title of the sculpture and when it was made. Perhaps you can help? Fuji X-E2.

Mark Swan's bronze sculpture "Diva" at the Royal Horticultural Society Wisley Gardens in Surrey. There are plenty of sculptures in this vast area, and this one in particular, facing a pond and surrounded by benches where people can sit down and relax, produces an element of playfulness. Playfulness is important for horticulture which, at the RHS Wisley, people are a dead serious about.

The Wonderland Sculpture is an impressive and iconic piece of public art located in the plaza of The Bow Tower in downtown Calgary.

Artist: It was created by the acclaimed Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa (born in Barcelona).

Description: It is a monumental portrait of a young girl's head, standing approximately 12 meters (39 feet) tall, constructed from a bent, painted steel wire mesh, which gives it a transparent and ethereal quality.

Meaning: The piece represents humanity and the "palace of dreams" of the province's young people. Plensa's intention is to link art, architecture, and society.

Unique Feature: Visitors are encouraged to walk inside the sculpture through an opening at the neck, allowing them to experience the artwork from within and view the city through the wire mesh.

From Wikipedia :- "Designed by Vanbrugh and built 1720–1721, this is a circular temple, consisting of ten unfluted Roman Ionic columns raised up on a podium of three steps. The dome was altered by Borra in 1773–1774 to give it a lower profile. In the centre is a statue of Venus raised on a tall decorated plinth. The current sculpture is a recent replacement for the original and is gilt. The building was modelled on the temple of Venus at Knidos."
