The next day, my goal was to shoot the DL's ALCOs. I had my fingers crossed for a Carbondale job, but I would have been okay with a run up the Pocono main as well. Instead of either, all I got was a job to Taylor Yard for interchange. I think this makes 2 of 5 DL visits where I only got a couple shots. Win some / lose some. There are two crews in this shot moving about. One is getting ready to head to Taylor with a cut of cars for NS.

DLW's Scranton station was built in 1908 to replace a much smaller station. Today you can spend the night here under the Radisson name. I've used other hotels nearby but never this one. Going to have to change that sometime.

There were a lot of these old shipping crates with the Scranton Lace logos on them either intact or in pieces. This one was unique in that it was busted but the logo was still recognizable.

I'm ending my short series of my D-L SC-7 adventure with this shot of them as they return for Scranton as seen from the overpass at Childs, PA looking toward Mayfield. What a sight this must have been 70 years earlier with the D&H and NYO&W taking up most of the Valley with tracks loaded with hopper cars of black diamonds.
