Spotted first in January and he is still around today.

The south shore of the Great Salt Lake is pretty easy to reach from an access road that parallels I-80. These are mudflats, swampy, and conditions change often.

That is Antelope Island, the largest of ~10 islands in the Great Salt Lake.

Last week up in the UP camping we visited this little falls near Christmas, MI.

Scott's View is a viewpoint in the Scottish Borders, overlooking the valley of the River Tweed, which is reputed to be one of the favourite views of Sir Walter Scott.

Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) was an American military commander and political candidate. He served as a general in the United States Army from 1814 to 1861, taking part in the War of 1812, the Mexican–American War, the early stages of the American Civil War and conflicts with Native Americans. Scott was the Whig Party's presidential nominee in the 1852 election, but was defeated by Democrat Franklin Pierce. He was known as Old Fuss and Feathers for his insistence on proper military etiquette, as well as the Grand Old Man of the Army for his many years of service.

Originally scheduled for conversion to condos, the 1902 historical building was demolished this week because of a risk of its collapse.

This picture of the building and its ghost sign was taken while it was on death row.

A view ot the Eildon Hills known to be one of Sir Walter Scott's favourite places to come and reflect.

According to a popular story, Sir Walter Scott stopped at this point so often on the way to his home at Abbotsford, that his horses would halt without command. After his death in 1832, his funeral cortège passed this way en route to his burial at Dryburgh Abbey, and his horses stopped at his favourite view to allow their master a last look at the Borders landscape. In fact, although the funeral procession did pass this way, the halt was due to 'some accident'.

Kind of a cool technique, if you overpower the ambient light with your strobes and close up your aperture you can black out the background. It was lit up clear as day in there.
