The museum is located opposite the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Givat Ram neighborhood. The museum is named for its principal donor, Neri Bloomfield. The museum features indoor and outdoor hands-on exhibits, among them a bubble-making corner in which huge bubbles are produced by chains and sticks. Special events at the museum include programs on science-related topics, such as biomedical research, in which the public is invited to meet stem cell researchers and discuss the ethical issues involved. A special night science program sponsored by the European Union has been held at the museum for several years.
Why so many crickets? We are interested in determining the *general* metabolic fates of different nutrients, like the amino acid glycine. In order to be able to generalize, we need to show that there's a consistent pattern across different crickets (and across different times). That means measuring a whole bunch of crickets.

The National STEM Guitar Project, in partnership with NSF Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Centers with funding provided through a grant from The National Science Foundation (#1304405), hosts innovative Guitar Building Institutes around the United States. The 5-day institutes, combined with additional instructional activities comprising 80 hours, provide faculty training on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for middle, high school, and post-secondary faculty. The institutes present and teach participants hands-on, applied learning techniques to help engage students and spark excitement for learning STEM subject matter.
Nationwide, there are increasing concerns from businesses about the supply of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics trained workers. Science and math test scores in the U.S. are among the lowest around the world.
The goal and objective of the STEM Guitar Building Institutes is to showcase a new way to present learning for students with applied methods.
On behalf of iLearn STEAM Crew, I would like to congratulate the participants of the 6th Annual North Jersey Science Olympiad. This year’s 300 Olympians worked in 20 teams to complete 14 challenges in science, technology, engineering and problem solving. It was a wonderful tournament with full of energy and enthusiasm. The four highest scoring teams were awarded trophies and individual students received 1st to 6th place medals.
nomads went to the Science Museum and tried two cafes. We liked this cafe, which was a bit quieter, and had a colourful modern "scientific" feel. This shot was artistically blurred, even though some might think it was low light wobble.
