On January 9, 2014, AIP Foundation handed over 140 helmets to primary school-aged students of Thai Rath Wittaya 75 School in Bangkok. At a helmet handover ceremony, students received the high quality helmets kindly donated by Vespiario (Thailand) Co., Ltd. AIP Foundation staff conducted training on proper helmet use, followed by remarks from representatives from the Royal Thai Police and the Office of The Basic Education Commission.
The ceremony marked the end of an experimental trial around police enforcement of helmet wearing at the school. During the two week trial, police officers from the local command patrolled the school's entrance to enforce students' helmet wearing. Students' response to the extra police presence was measured through helmet observations and focus group discussions.

Save the Children USA has a program called "Survive 'Till Five". Between pregnancy and the age of five is the most vulnerable time where you have early infant and child mortality.
Save the Children hopes to change this with a series of medical and education programs designed to ensure that children survive until age five and beyond.

Save the Children actually has multiple offices in Bangladesh - for Save the Children operations from different countries. At the time I'm uploading this photo, I was visiting Nick Downie at the Save the Children UK offices. It was well past business hours but these guys were burning the latenight oil to try and get on top of the work and disaster management.
This photo was taken using my cellphone. Nick Downie can be seen in the cubicle on the left.

Matt Damon and expecting wife, Luciana, arrive at Save the Children's Celebration of Hope event to support mothers and children in the poorest regions of the world, May 20, 2010.
After the Cyclone, the roads that went through this region were too damage to be used. But they were the only real place people could move to where they felt safe. Here is a photo of a row of tents and slum housing set up on what was once a road for cars.

Pidahouse was a young student in Grade Six when I first met him. He explained that, although he survived Cyclone Sidr, his school was destroyed. Teachers used the few remaining benches and taught outside the classrooms. Pidahouse sits in an abandoned classroom with no ceiling.
