SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN – BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
THE SECRET LIFE OF REINDEER
The sleigh bells tinkle in the cold night air
the moon is round and full
as round as Santa's sack and tummy
like a plump red robin
with a beard made of fluffy white wool
Santa's coat is bright and red too
as red as Rudolph's nose
the close-kept secret life of reindeer
where they come from nobody knows
I'm not talking ordinary reindeer here
I am talking of the magical kind
the ones that can talk and whisper to Santa
the ones who always leave a present to find
so if you've been good; I mean good for the whole year
then you'll have a nice surprise
on Christmas Eve when Santa comes down your chimney
and wipes the soot from his eyes
so please don't leave your logs burning that night
or you'll singe his beard or worse
and you'll hear him cry out, not with a laugh
but maybe with a choice word or curse! ; 0)
but there's no good pretending that you're asleep
because Santa will surely know
and Rudolph is shy and will race away
leaving Santa behind in the snow
but if you leave him a biscuit or a mince pie or two
I mean Rudolph, not Santa, leave him a shandy
he can nibble and share with the other reindeer
while Santa ransacks your house for the brandy!
And while he's feeling warm and his cheeks are rosy
he may fall asleep on the couch
so don't be surprised on Christmas morn
if you find him still there in a slouch
but if you stay asleep he may tip-toe out
the front door; it's easier that way
he has so much trouble fitting down the chimney
and after drinking all your brandy he will sway
as he toddles down the path and Rudolph picks him up
the other reindeer shake their heads in disapproval
Merry Christmas Merry Santa they whisper to him
before they load him on the sleigh for removal
dear old Santa, he does a good job
on that one special night of the year
and he never forgets those who are truly good

This year we're really having a full moon on Christmas!
This hasn't happened since 1977!!!
I hope you like this super festive image of Iris as Miss Santa, Manny as the strong reindeer pulling the sleigh and Scarah as the helping elf.
The blue background with the moon is painted paper, the snow on the floor is cotton and the stars and falling snow in the sky are some effects I edited in to make this picture more magical :-)

About the Ebook
As a self-challenge for December 2021 a photo was taken every day up to Christmas Day (sometimes multiple photos a day) featuring 1/6 scale dioramas, Elf on the Shelf and Santa to celebrate the upcoming holiday. For any collector of smaller scaled items this is a must for any fan of Christmas in general.

This past weekend , I had the extraordinary privilege of singing with Andrea Bocelli, at the Bank Atlantic Center, as part of the Master Chorale of South Florida. He was amazing, and gave the audience of 20,000 people an evening of pure pleasure. It was wonderful to hear his fans screaming like hockey fans,....... for opera! An evening I will never forget. This shot above was taken at the rehearsal the night before, which was at an outdoor amphitheater, and it was quite cool out. We all had extra layers on, unusual for south Florida.
Thank you Meg for lending me the point and shoot, without which, I would not have these memories preserved.

So I wanted to share this pic of one of my favorite local finds this fall. It's an old wooden Store Display Santa. This was actually on display at SEARS (Ann Arbor, Mi) in the late 1950s era. Purchased from a woman, who obtained two sets from an elderly woman in her 90s who once worked at SEARS.
In his hand that's waving is his mustache. It looks like they forgot to cut it out at nail it to his face. I'm sure I can help with that.
This is 1 of 3 parts of this set that I acquired. More pics coming soon!

When I spotted the deer yesterday in Parkanaur Forest Park, this stag leapt into the air and all I could picture was one of Santa's reindeer - perhaps he was auditioning!!! LOL
I'm using this shot as my entry in the Weekly Theme Challenge Group - Action (this was my choice of subject, as I won one of the challenges previously :))

I purchased these at an estate sale for $2. I love the graphics as much as I love the records. They are in good condition, not perfect, but I like them just the same. Not sure if they will play, Now I need to get a working record player!
