Okay, so it didn't work as well as I thought it would. The sand was very hard and felt almost solid even though it was blowing quite easily.

Stabilised sand dune beside the Coastal Highway north or south of Nanutarra in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. When the highway was widened the dune area either side of the highway became denuded. Scanned from photo taken in 2004.

This beach is on the west side of a narrow strip of land separating the airfield. the sand dunes are most impressive!
One last view of the details at Warren Dunes. Lots of trees that have been downed for ages... the dunes get what they want.
