This formation is locally known as the castle or Salt and Pepper and to the local aboriginal people , the Antakirinja Matuntjarra, Yankuntjatjarra, it known as papa and is a men's story.
This is a fascinating place just north of Coober Pedy, in South Australia. I got here a bit late this day. This is about 20 minutes after sunset.
About 70 million years ago a vast inland sea covered this area.

I’m not really a fan of dark backgrounds and only being able to see a person there, this one I actually liked, though a little annoyed the shoes didn’t come out properly, getting the right PBR lighting on this was really awkward, I do like how it came out at the end of the day.

What started as a simple opposites photo turned in to a full food photoshoot. In the end I liked this shot better for the theme however I really enjoyed eating my chicken wings after I took all my photos.

Australia has a lot to offer for those who like vast landscapes. Many national parks each having their own character and charm.
I shot this panorama in Port Campbell National Park, during a trip along the Great Ocean Road.
The photo shows the Loch Ard Gorge and its characteristic rock formations: Salt and Pepper and Razorback.

This ceramic salt and pepper shaker set was a gift from me to my mom somewhere in the mid 1950s or so. I remember finding them at the 5 and dime in town and that I had enough money to buy them. The one behind has a broken hind leg but he's a trooper and still stands on three legs. When we cleaned out my mom's house the leg was not found.
They spice up our life and our meals. Those tiny grains and crystals on our table can inspire us everyday and also make us think about colors, black and white, a band in the 80’s and your Dad’s hair… Because salt and pepper rock! These are really two opposites that go great together.

Sour dough bread cut into small cubes, deep fried in olive oil in a cast iron skillet, drained in collander and then further flavored with parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic salt and pepper. Less than 3 inches. Difficult theme this week for achieving appealing images IMHO.
