The Citadel of Salah Ed-Din (Arabic: Qalaat Salah ed-Din; once known as Saone, also known as Saladdin Castle) is a castle in Syria. It is located c. 30 km east of Latakia, in high mountainous terrain, on a ridge between two deep ravines and surrounded by forest.

The Salat or Salah refers to the five public prayers that each Muslim must perform daily, facing Mecca. There are five times a day.
Prayers must be performed in Arabic, even if the believer does not know the language, although they may be in another language. Prayers should be made at specific times of the day, which do not correspond to hours, but to the steps of the course of the Sun.
- Fajr: at dawn;
- Dhur (or Zhur): at noon, after the sun has reached its peak;
- Asr: between the noon and the sunset;
- Maghrib: just after sundown;
- Isha: at night, at least an hour and a half after sunset and before midnight.

The location, part of the Muqattam hill near the center of Cairo, was once famous for its fresh breeze and grand views of the city, and was fortified by the Ayyubid ruler Salah al-Din (Saladin) between 1176 and 1183 AD, to protect it from the Crusaders[1].
